I own several Baleaf shorts and pants and have consistently had good experiences with the brand, so I was happy to try these convertible hiking pants. The design is very practical and well thought out. The front pockets are full size and easily hold a phone or wallet, and the zippered closures are especially useful for travel and security. In addition, there are two side pockets on the legs that also fit a phone comfortably. One of those pockets uses a Velcro flap, but I found it easy to tuck the flap inside and access my phone quickly, which worked well for my personal use. I really like the convertible feature that allows the pant legs to roll up and secure with a strap, creating a cropped or pedal-pusher length. There are also adjustable cinches at the ankles, which adds flexibility depending on activity or weather. The small gear loops near the pocket are a nice extra detail and useful for clipping sunglasses or small tools. The fabric feels substantial without being heavy, dries quickly, and has light water resistance, which makes these pants especially convenient for travel or outdoor use. They’re comfortable and move well without feeling stiff. I ordered the navy color but received rust instead. While it wasn’t the color I originally selected, I ended up liking it more than expected. The rust shade is darker in person than it appears online and looks more like a true rust tone rather than peach. I like the fit and design enough that I would consider purchasing an additional pair in navy as well. Overall, these are versatile, functional pants with excellent storage and thoughtful design, and they’ve worked well for both travel and everyday active wear. 5★ Read more
They run a bit large, but was very happy with the product. Read more
I am 5'8" and 170lbs with a 32" waist and got these in the recommended size L. They fit pretty well. I would have preferred a tad more length and they were slightly tight across the thighs. I love all the pockets and the rip cord around the ankle so that you can cinch them. This makes these super functional for hiking. I did not love the fabric, it is incredibly noisy (making the swish swish sound when you move) and didn't seem all that breathable. I got these in the winter, so I wore them around the house but haven't had a chance to wear them hiking in more milder weather (right now hiking in MN means serious warm gear). These are very thin which means they would only be suitable for hiking in maybe 50oF or warmer weather. I would recommend if you are looking for pants like this. These are cute and look well constructed. I am not sure how durable and breathable they will be for hiking yet. Read more
I'm a big fan of Baleaf and these pants do not disappoint. I love that the legs can be rolled up and all of the pockets. If your looking for a great quality and fitting pants for outdoor use, these are what you are looking for. They are breathable and stretchy. I don't like tight waist and these fit perfectly. Don't pass on these. Read more
The BALEAF Women's Hiking Pants serve as a highly functional bridge between technical tactical gear and lightweight activewear. Engineered with a 90% Polyester and 10% Spandex blend, these pants provide a 4-way stretch that ensures unrestricted mobility during strenuous ascents or dynamic movements. Technical Specifications & Performance The ripstop fabric is the standout feature, offering essential durability against trail brush while maintaining a breathable, lightweight profile suitable for multi-season use. The integration of UPF 50+ protection provides a critical barrier against UV rays for high-altitude or exposed trekking. In terms of weather resistance, the surface treatment effectively sheds light moisture and mist, though the quick-dry nature of the fabric is what truly excels, preventing prolonged discomfort after stream crossings or sudden showers. Storage and Utility Equipped with five strategically placed zippered pockets, the pants offer secure organization that is often lacking in women’s outdoor apparel. The deep cargo and side pockets are sized appropriately for modern smartphones and navigational tools without creating significant bulk or sagging. Ergonomics and Design The high-waisted elastic band, supplemented by an adjustable drawstring, allows for a precise fit that accommodates various body types and layering needs. The articulated knees and tapered leg design reduce wind resistance and prevent fabric snagging on rugged terrain. These pants are an optimal choice for hikers and travelers who prioritize a balance of protection and weight. While they are not intended for sub-zero alpine conditions, their breathability and technical pocket layout make them an elite option for trekking, camping, and tactical training in temperate to warm environments. This is my first pair of true hiking pants. I know this is nothing new to anyone else, but WOW how cool are these! First and foremost they are lightweight, true to color and maybe slightly big in the sizing. I am between L/XL and I went with the XL. the waist is a bit loose; nothing I don't mind too much though as the rest of the pants fit comfortably. I'm 5'9 and felt the length was nice as well! The quality feels great. I have washed them several times now and no issues. Highly recommend! Read more
Fabric is not super light-weight, which some of these types of pants on Amazon are. Lots of pockets, roomie for a big-hip girl. Read more
