I’ve been using the Banana Boat Sport Kids Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 on my kids for several outings now—everything from playground days to beach trips—and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it performs overall. First off, the stick format is a game-changer. It’s compact, easy to toss in a backpack or purse, and perfect for on-the-go applications. I especially love using it on my kids’ faces—around the nose, ears, and under the eyes—where lotions and sprays tend to get messy or sting. With the stick, there's no dripping, no white cream smeared all over their hands and clothes, and no complaints about spray going in their eyes. It’s quick, clean, and efficient—major win for busy parents! The SPF 50 offers solid protection, even during intense sun exposure. We’ve used it on hot, sunny days at the pool and during soccer practices, and neither of my kids got sunburned, even after sweating and running around for hours. I appreciate that it’s water- and sweat-resistant (up to 80 minutes), which is a must for active children. That said, the texture is a bit thick and waxy, which can make it harder to blend in. If you’re not careful, it might leave a noticeable white cast—especially on darker skin tones or if applied too heavily. It’s best when you take a few seconds to rub it in after applying. Also, after multiple uses, the top of the stick can pick up dirt or lint, so I try to keep the cap tightly sealed and clean it off occasionally. One other thing I’d point out is that while it’s great for targeted areas like the face and neck, it’s not ideal as your only sunscreen for full-body coverage—it’s just too small and takes too long to apply over larger areas. Overall, though, this is a really reliable and convenient product, especially for those tricky spots that need frequent reapplication. It’s become a staple in our pool bag and I’ll definitely be repurchasing it. If it were a bit smoother to apply and had less of a white residue, I’d happily give it five stars.
