Above all else, you should protect your face from the sun. Cancers of the skin happen to be very common on the face, and you would do well to make sure it was liberally covered in sunscreen. This stuff will do it's job - you won't get sunburn. It's decent SPF lotion. I find personally that I don't have to reapply like instructed and I still don't end up with sunburn. That said, let me tell you, there is nothing in the world worse than getting this crap in your eyes. If you get wet in any way, be it from sweating or going in the water, it will get in your eyes and it burns like the sun (ironically enough). Seriously, it really hurts if it gets into your eyes. I wear it as everyday sunscreen to prevent aging and I finally had to find a sunscreen lotion dedicated to protecting my face just to stop the constant need to flush my eyes out.
