Just go easy and they'll come apart for you. The LIDS ARE ATTACHED and must be carefully separated as well. Once together... they are AWESOME and perfectly STACKABLE to save room and have an Organized look. I LABELED mine with Slits of Paper Taped to thee ends or sides where I can easily tell what is inside. Taking the time needed (NO RUSHING...) Will be a blessing for knowing or easily reading and seeing what is INSIDE OF EACH STORAGE BOX. I LOVE these. Read more
