Bought this to replace an old painted juicer that started peeling away. Love the polished bare steel (no paint to peel off) but it's squeezing action is a little lopsided. It moves on a single hinge but when a fair amount of pressure is applied it tends to close at a slant instead of directly onto itself. Time will tell if this develops into a problem or is just a quirk of the tool. So far it works just fine squeezing lemons and limes. Read more

I did rate 4/5 stars specially because I have never used a juicer press before and the box was no help. I actually had to look it up on skynet which way my lime was supposed to be placed in the juicer. I guessed correctly that the skin faces up and the membranes of the fruit rest on the holds of the juicer (first photo). I will say on first use with the membranes down there was still a good amount of juice left in my lime. So I tried it the reverse way thinking that might extract more juice and it did a little bit but not like I would think. The juices would strain properly with the lime upside down in the juicer. So on the second half I cut four slices around the edge skin of the lime and that made a tremendous difference in juice extraction. By cutting the skin allowing it to break easier when pressing I was able to fully extract all the juices out of the second half of my like on one swift easy press. Which was really useful and impressive to me! It took very little strength or effort on my part! I know juicers have been around for a long time but they feel like a luxury item that I wouldn’t think to go out of my way to have in my kitchen. Especially since it’s something I will only utilize for certain recipes. After using one I can see why they’re a necessity if you like to use and work with a lot of fresh juices for soups or flavoring. I have always relied on my own hands or my husband when we need to juice limes or lemons for our lemon piccata recipe or our spicy avocado lime soup. After learning how to use this; it’s effortless to use and makes a significant difference for working with fresh juices! The press is heavy duty durable and would work with the smallest and largest of limes and lemons. This tool also cleans just as easy as it is to use! I am very impressed with this heavy duty juicer press. My one complaint is the packaging not including which way the fruit should be placed in the tool to best utilize it. I got this for my daughter who moved into a new apartment. I have an enamel coated one from a high end specialty kitchen store and I love it. This one is the same size. From experience, limes work, lemons can be a tough fit, cuties are fine, but don't even bother trying oranges. They work opposite from the way you think they should. You put your lime in cut side down towards the draining holes. When you press, the lime turns inside out. For lemons, I find that the lemon rind sometimes gets in the way so the fruit seems like you didn't get all the juice but if I pop it out and try to juice it with a manual juicer, I don't get much more out. These are better than manual juicers because as you press, you are also getting the citrus oil from the peel in your juice. With a manual juicer, you're only getting the juice. I hand wash this. Citrus fruit tends to be covered in wax, and it tends to gather on the juicer, so by handwashing, I'm able to scrub all the collected wax off. Read more

I found this product to be much nicer than the average Hand juicing press. It’s sturdy and does a great job. Even looks nicer. Been hand washing in hopes that it will stay looking like this. Read more

Meh. Hinge is about 1/16 of an inch too high so it does not squeeze all the juice. My $3 green juicer does a better job. That said, if the look and feel are more important to you, the stainless is nice, has a good heft, and a comfy handle. Large cup is nice for lemons, limes, and small oranges. All of my other barfly purchases have been excellent. This one I would skip. Read more
