Bathroom Mat Toilet Runner Rug Custom Size Non Slip Quick Dry Water Absorbent Shower Rugs Fit Under Door-Washable

I have a special needs adult male in my household and I need to protect the wood floor around the toilet from urine that frequently lands far from the toilet and sometimes in large quantities. I am very glad that I came across this product in my Amazon search for solutions. First, know that this is not a “rug”. It is EXACTLY like the material that my computer mouse pad is made of, but double the thickness of the mouse pad. The top side of the mat has a thin layer that appears to be PRINTED with the LOOK of an industrial carpet—but it’s not actually fabric or woven—it’s like my rubber mouse pad. I purchased the 2’ x 6’ mat. That should be 24” x 72”, but the actual dimensions are 23 5/8” x 70 3/4”—so it’s a full inch and a quarter short on the length. I cut this in half and I used one half to cut a custom U-shaped mat to fit around the front of my toilet. I used the other half to make a long piece for each side of the toilet that tuck under the front section. The three pieces blend together very nicely to look like one large perfectly-sized u shaped mat. My finished mat is 35” side to side, and 43” front to back of the toilet. What I like about this product: It’s washable! I no longer have to worry about the urine or the frequent use of cleaning products damaging my wood floors. I can use the cleaning products to wipe up this mat, and I can also throw it in to the washing machine. I really like that it’s able to be cut—it was not possible to find a mat that was large enough for my needs or that perfectly fit my toilet without leaving gaps, so the ability to cut this mat custom is a perfect solution for me. It was easy to cut with sharp scissors. I just had to measure very carefully because the base of my toilet is an odd shape—it is angled and neither square nor round. I also like that it looks good enough on top of my dark wood floors. I really do not have any complaints so far. I am also considering buying another one for a different toilet in our house which has a tile floor—in that case I am wanting to protect the grout from urine stains which are hard to remove. This is a really nice solution for a reasonable price. I took closeup photos to show you the material it’s made of, and also photos to show you how it looks around the toilet. This rug isn't in my bathroom. I wanted it for my entry. I have a dog, so I have fur, leaves, dirt, you name it, my dog and I drag it in. Traditional entry rugs have proved to be difficult to clean. Everything seems to cling to them, and I find myself on my hands and knees with a brush or something trying to get all that stuff off of them. Not so this rug. It's smooth surface doesn't trap fur allowing me to vacuum the floor and the rug. Voila! they are both clean. Another thing I dislike about many of the rugs I have had is when they are lifted up there is dirt underneath. After a day of ins and out with the dog. I found no dirt under this rug. It stays in place, and I did wash off part of it with a damp rag just to see how fast it dries. It dried quickly. It comes rolled up so the one end was a little bent, but it is flattening out nicely. This is a great nonslip rug that could be useful all around the house. While I intended this for my bathroom, I considered how useful it would be in the laundry room or kitchen. I decided that it would be best in our entry area. It's a wet time of year and we have little kids going in and out all day. I was impressed by the thickness of this mat. It has a nonslip backing that stays put. The pattern on the top LOOKS like it's woven, but it's a printed design. (I initially was disappointed by this- but it is SO much easier to clean than a woven rug.) It vacuums well and cleans easily with a damp rag. We've gotten mud on it and spilled water. I thought this would be a great mat for my bathroom but found that its more suited for the garage, as this is more for more foot traffic. This also came smelling very rubbery and not pleasant. the odor went away, but the feel is extremely cheap and hard (there is no padding) it does do well for absorbency, but only for stepping out of the shower. mine is also cut unevenly. (closer to the door frame there is a notch where the cutter jumped due to the rubber material, resulting in an uneven cut) Read more
