I couldn’t wait to try this trimmer set, so naturally I tore into the box like a kid on Christmas morning. First impression: lots of attachments. You’ve got your standard guards, an adjustable one, a shaver head… and one attachment that looks suspiciously like it was designed to pull a tracking device out of your sinuses à la Total Recall. If you know, you know. First thing: charge it up. The stand is a little flimsy—not “cheap plastic disaster,” but more “don’t aggressively bump this at 6 a.m.” flimsy. That said, it has slots for everything and magnets that actually hold the attachments in place. Bonus points for the fact that you can plug the stand into the wall, so whenever the trimmer is docked, it’s charging. That’s a genuinely nice touch and saves you from the dreaded mid-shave power death. To turn it on, you have to hold the button for three seconds while it counts down like it’s launching a rocket. Once unlocked, you can cycle through multiple power levels with a click. The large, easy-to-read display is great—it shows battery percentage and other info so you don’t start shaving only to have it die halfway through your face. (Though again, dock it and this shouldn’t be an issue.) Now for the real test. I had about four days of beard growth—too much for a normal razor. Usually I trim it down first, then go back with a traditional razor and shaving cream. This time, however, I decided to try the included shaver attachment. Let’s be honest: you get what you pay for. This is not a fancy Norelco wet/dry rotary shaver. It did chew my face up a bit. But in fairness, I have very soft, baby-like skin that the ladies just absolutely adore. So that one’s on me. I tried it so you don’t have to. You’re welcome. The magnetic heads work really well. They snap on securely and don’t come off during use—you actually have to give them a little tug to remove them. That’s reassuring when you’re shaving sensitive areas and don’t want surprise detachment incidents. There are also a couple of angled attachments designed for hard-to-reach places… which we will not be discussing further here. Just know they exist, and they do what they’re supposed to do. All in all, for the price, this is a very good deal. It’s day one, but it did its job. Even if that job briefly involved roughing up my face a little, that was my choice. I regret nothing. I am a frugal person. I don’t spend a lot of money ever. Especially not on myself. I decided to buy this trimmer as it seemed to promise the most nessecary functions at a reasonable price. It completely blew me away. Although I’m young, 18 years young to be specific, I’ve never had an experience with trimmers as comfortable and intuitive as I had with trimx. You’d expect some Temu or alibaba product at the price and sheer quantity of accessories, but it’s higher quality than the big brand names you see everywhere else like norleco or wahls. Every part of this set works perfectly, and shows no sign of ever ceasing that work. Full stop. You can tell the designers take pride in their quality control. Read more
