i have locs that are almost to the middle of my back and i have purchased this cap twice (a friend snatched my first one!). i totally forgot that the cap bleeds and have stained my towel and my sheets overnight, but this is fixable... YOU GOTTA DEDICATE AN HOUR OR SO TO RINSING AND SQUEEZING IT OUT. i used hot water with lemon dishwashing detergent. i had to wring it through and change the water several times. like about 8 times, before the water finally got clear. AND...just to be safe, i'm soaking it in hot water+a small box of baking soda. i'm binge-watching a show and it's a Sunday, so... once that's done, it will be good to go. THIS CAP IS WORTH THIS SMALL EFFORT. another suggestion for us loc'd folks: buy a second cap. i got the one that's like a durag but encloses the hair. the two caps together meant i had a backup for the cap slipping back during the night. for us who like trained edges, this is gold. i would buy 10 of these caps because it's that solid of a product, and i rarely submit reviews #OnHere. also, for anyone wondering about the elastic, i had my previous cap for a couple of years and the elastic did not loosen too much at all and remained so viable that my friend stole it the last time they were at my house. It fits well and I have not had the problem some mention of the product leaving stains behind from dye. UPDATE: I have the dye problem now It has stained all of my pillows and is probably caused by sweat , high temperature or moisture, I worry about what the dye could be doing to my hair.(this bumps it down to a 4 for me) However the product has a really tight fit which can be uncomfortable, but honestly you just have to break it in its brand new, after 3 days it felt more comfortable to wear for me while still remaining form fitting. It has ample capactiy to grow into, and im certain it can support even the more lengthy sizes of locs. If youre thinking about picking one up i would recommend this product, its good for the price gets the job done and was a nice replacement for my Previous "Du-Rag" however thats spelled. Read more

I've worn locs for at least 12 years and tend to keep them fairly long. It's always been difficult finding something to wear at night. Before this product, I was tying my hair up with a scarf. Then I bought an extra long/large scarf at a wig shop, but neither was truly effective and comfortable because I felt like my hair was strangling me as it fell around my neck. What this cap does is keeps it neat, controlled, and comfortable. I have the brown, and it seems tight enough but not too tight. I tend to wear it around the house. I'm planning on getting more. I've worn this loc soc for over a month now and I'll say that's it's okay but it's TIGHT, and there's EXCESSIVE DYE.. It's tight in the sense that the soc is narrow and takes time to put your locs in. BUT you can wear this all day with the bandy part over your ears and it won't make your ears ache. This is my second loc soc and I bought it to have one separate for work. The other one I have is a Titans brand and that one is not tight but the bandy will ache your ears after an hour and I don't like to lay the stretchable bandy part on my hair line, it can cause thinning of the edges too & doesn't allow the follicles to breathe cuz it's laying secured right on top of it for hours. As for the dye, I dodnt experience the dye smearing on my pillow because the pillowcase is a deep red colored and cotton made. but I did start to see black stainunder my nails whenever I scratched my head. So after noticing that, I decided to mix up a formula to reduce the amount of dye in the loc soc. Thentwo photos below is the dye people are complaining about that's getting on their pillow. I have a head full of approximately 24 inches of finger-thick braids, and this cap was ideal for use! The elastic band is fitted, but it was not uncomfortable for my head size (I can purchase hats off the rack without issue or much adjusting, so I'd say I have an average circumference). The elastic stayed put throughout use. The material is like a flat sheen so so far no issue of drying. I have only use it for a day, but I am purchasing a few more for the gym and as backup. Great fast delivery. Good quality product. My locks are too long though. They are to my waist. If you have shoulder length thin locks it may work but you may need to cut the elastic for long thick locs because it's ""really"" tight on the skull. I cut the elastic in several spots to make more room. It made a bit more room but still the sock is too short for my hair. elastic but still my locks are way to long. Read more

I read the reviews about the tightness of the band, and honestly that's why I bought it. I normally use LocSocs, but after a while, the elastic just doesn't hold well especially at night when sleeping. I like this b/c no matter how wild I toss at night, it's still in the same place in the am. I did however heed the advice from others and washed it several times before using it at night. Haven't found any discoloration on my pillows or sheets. I also cut the bottom out, because I like the style of the open end of the LocSoc, But it still does what I need it to do. Read more
