I have purchased these Tank Tops with the built in shelf bra several times over the past year and a half. This last purchase, it took me 3 times to get the right fit. Amazon recommended I purchase size Medium. It was extremely tight around the rib cage, so I returned the medium and ordered Large. Unfortunately the Large was not noticeably bigger at all, so I returned it and purchased X-LARGE. The X-LARGE is definitely noticeably bigger. Almost too big, but I'm keeping the X LARGE because after washing them, they will snug up from being 95% cotton. I do love these tank tops. After several washings they become extremely soft and very comfortable. I encourage going up a size or two for sure. From this last experience, having to send back the medium and large, I don't believe they are reliably sized properly. I am 5' 4" and 117 pounds and not at all busty. All my other shirts and blouses, I wear a size small and sometimes medium. I'm fairly petite. My previous tank tops from this seller, I purchased size large and back then I was 15 pounds heavier. I am 71 years old, 5,4' and 185 lbs. As you older girls know, the older we get the bigger our girls get. Also, I have had an unresolved back injury and my lack of exercise has caused weight gain in my mid-section. These are comfortable and give some support. Just ordered my second set of these, in black/white. They wear well and are proportioned the way I like them at 5'3" - armholes not too big nor too close to my armpits, and they leave enough room at the shoulder to move freely. The bra band sits in the right place and isn't too tight or loose, and the neckline is not too low or high. The top itself is long but not TOO long, cotton blend is stretchy and breathable, not too tight. I wear them in public, which means they fit well and I can do what I want to do without worrying they'll ride up or show too much.
