Soft and Fresh
Rant time: So I have 2/c wavy hair, and I've been focusing on taking care of my hair, and I've experimented, and looked into it and one thing people keep talking about is satin because your waves or curls (if you have curly hair) will last longer, and not look as messy as it is when you sleep on normal sheets. I can wash my hair, and it looks it's best until I fall asleep, and then the waves start clumping and it just loses it's look quick, so when I found out satin can make things so much easier, I followed some advice and got a bonnet, and while it does work, I sleep like an animal trying to escape it's cage apparently, and I wake up with the bonnet on the other side of the room. So after some research I got one that you can tie around your head from tiktok, and while my hair did look great the day after, and remained soft and not so frizzy, I didn't like how my temples would feel, and since I was also suffering from hair loss I was paranoid of losing more hair there, so I loosened the tie, but would wake up with the bonnet getting all over my eyes, and just being too loose that way, so I lost my patience and began to give up until I came across another video that recommended getting satin sheets. I looked into it, and took a chance with these sheets after reading some of the reviews. I have a Queen bed, and accidentally ordered a King sized one, and surprisingly enough after tucking it further in below, I don't have the sheet's crinkling up too much, or becoming too loose fast, and they stay in place. The sheets are fresh, and I sleep with a fan on even in winter cuz I like to cozy up under my blankets, and the feeling of the fresh sheets while still being warm from the blankets is a wonderful feeling. I always wake up feeling soooo refreshed, and comfortable, and washing them is easy. When it comes to drying, I put it on low setting, and only put it under 10-15 minutes, and that's usually enough. Now for my main focus, my hair? Wonderful, literally fantastic. My waves look great, and my hair remains soft without my hair clumping up. I have pillows for the aesthetic, and to put my back against it when I'm using my laptop or reading a book, but for sleep I usually avoid them because my neck usually gets sore, and tense, and I don't care for that at all. I usually use my blankets (I have a good amount) as pillows, so while the sheets were great, I also ordered a satin blanket to use as a pillow, and while it does slide all over the place here and there, my hair is reaping the benefits. Here's a list: 1) My face has been clearer, and less prone to acne. I literally only cleanse my face, and put moisturizer on every single day, and I used to break out a lot after bed, and ever since I got these sheets plus that blanket to put my face on, my skin has been the clearest it's ever been, and that's with the phases your face goes through based on your hormones if you're a woman. 2) Hair is silkier, waves last longer. No clumping, or feeling so dry after the 2nd day if I push it like I used to with cotton sheets. 3) Washing them is an easy process, and drying it too if you know how to handle satin. 4) Oddly, and maybe I haven't done enough research for it, my skin has felt softer too. 5) They feel really fresh against your skin, and not sticky, or hot. Just fresh and soft. The only con I would say is that yes, things will slide over, mostly your pillows if you use the satin covers they give you, but if waking up to some blanket's on the floor, or my pillows here and there too from time to time well, it's a small price to pay for the benefit's I get from it. So if you have marble floor like I do, just keep your floor clean, sweep the floor continuously if you're like me who obsesses over bacteria, and make sure to clean under the bed too if you don't want to put dust covered pillows back on the bed, and mop. It's a fast process so like I said, it's a small price to pay. If you have carpet then I would suggest maybe don't use the satin pillow covers, but that's up to you, and how your mind works lol I recommend these a lot. I'll see in summer when it gets boiling hot if my answer remains the same, but as of rn for winter, they're amazing, and I'm planning to buy more in different colors. Definitely more pro's than cons.
