I have had excellent results from other Ohtorv products and the beef tallow sunscreen performs just as well. A sunblock offering 50 Sun Protection Factor, it is safe and gentle to use. The small jar easily slips into my bag or pack for use on the go. The creamy lightweight beef tallow absorbs easily into sun sensitive areas such as ears, nose or hands. Only a small amount is needed to establish sun protection. Water resistant, it stays protective even when perspiring from outdoor activity. Being beef tallow, the sunscreen hydrates sensitive skin while it protects. There is very little scent, which I prefer. For the quality protection delivered at a bargain price, this is a great value. As someone who’s always on the hunt for natural skincare products that actually work, I was genuinely curious—and admittedly a bit skeptical—about trying Beef Tallow Sunscreen. Feels great, and I love the listed ingredients for a natural sunscreen. As others have mentioned, it doesn’t list SPF, which I find hugely problematic. The consistency is nice and it feels good on. The container is pretty small, so the overall value is going to depend on how many people you’re applying this to and how often, whether the size and cost are good for you. I had okay results with this going outside for walks and light gardening but I can’t say I would trust it for a long day at the beach or anywhere for a considerable amount of time in bright, direct, summer sun. I really liked this sunscreen - easy to apply, gentle, natural ingredients plus zinc. I used it on my body, not face, and it was a pleasant to apply product. It creates an oil barrier, so it's somewhat water resistant (though all sun products last, at most, 60-80 minutes before reapplication). Not much more to say about it - it did a great job protecting skin from the sun, which is exactly what it was supposed to do. Great price for what you get ($6 at the time of order). Read more

This product smooths on easily and absorbs quickly with no noticeable scent. I am able to apply makeup on top with no issue. I use it as a sunscreen under makeup and haven't had any sunburns. However, the disclaimer that it does not replace true SPF sunscreen is concerning. I continue to use it, however, as I like the product, and the price is good. This jar of sunscreen lotion arrived in a box with the same labels as on the jar—only larger, which made them easier to read. The glass jar itself didn’t have any seals, so tampering could be a concern. However, there was an additional removable plastic lid inside the jar, providing extra protection during transport. The product page states that the SPF level is 50, but there’s no SPF rating listed anywhere on the box or jar. I’m also used to seeing an “Active Ingredients” section on sunscreens I’ve purchased in the past, but this jar only lists ingredients: pure beef tallow, zinc oxide, red raspberry seed oil, and carrot seed oil. I know zinc oxide is a proven sunblock, while the natural oils may add smaller amounts of protection. The lotion is about as close to odorless as a product can get, which I appreciate since I’m not a fan of the typical sunscreen scent. If you’ve ever used beef tallow lotion, this sunscreen looks and applies very similarly. It rubs in easily, and with just a little effort, the whitish cast disappears. Once applied, it feels like a regular body lotion on the skin. One downside is the lack of usage directions—there’s no guidance on how often to reapply or whether it’s water-resistant (important for swimming or sweating). On the positive side, I do appreciate that the product is clearly labeled as handcrafted in the USA. Made in the USA! Very fluffy and airy cream. Very nice quality, absorbs quickly and smoothly and leaves the skin feeling soft and pleasant. Non-greasy, light-weight feel to it. Just 4 ingredients: tallow, zinc oxide, raspberry seed oil, and carrot seed oil. Much fewer ingredients than a typical sunscreen product, which often contain many chemical and artificial ingredients. However, not an SPF-rated sunscreen. But if you're caring this much for your skin, you're probably already not spending too much time in the sun anyways. And if you are, then you're really undoing a lot of the care you're putting in. Only 2oz size jar and it's glass so it feels heavy, so there's really not a whole lot there. Although since you don't need to use a lot each time, it still makes for a good value. No box shrink wrapping nor a safety seal on the jar. Read more
