I’m really impressed with this sunscreen. As a redhead with very fair, sunburn-prone skin, I don’t take sun protection lightly. I try to avoid chemical sunscreens as much as possible, so I was happy to find this one with clean ingredients and even happier that it actually works. This actually works well for me. I use it during my mid morning walks. I love the ingredients! Especially the non nano zinc and grass fed beef tallow. It does contain beeswax for those that have issues with that. It’s easy to apply and because it actually works well for me I don’t mind the price. I do have to admit at first I was hesitant because upon opening the scent and texture reminded me of regular unscented sunscreen you could get at any drugstore. I have very sensitive skin when it comes to sunscreen—most cause my cheeks to burn and turn red shortly after application. This product looked like it could be a good fit, and I also liked that it comes from a small business. I received it as a 2-pack, which is a great value. The only tiny packaging gripe is that each box was wrapped in cellophane—a sticker would’ve worked just as well. The tub itself is sturdy and attractive. Even though it’s a zinc-based sunscreen, it rubbed in smoothly without leaving the dreaded white cast. It feels light, not greasy, and stays put—great for kids so it doesn’t smear into their eyes. It has virtually no scent, which is perfect for those sensitive to fragrances. I tested it during a full day of gardening with a hat and didn’t experience any burning on my face or neck, even though I forgot to reapply. I learned it contains non-nano zinc, which google told me is better for coral reefs even than nano-zinc and less likely to be absorbed into your skin. I'm a freckled redhead who sunburns very easily, so I've become a connoisseur of sunscreen. I'm always up for trying new products, especially on my face - it's the most exposed part of my body, but I also hate gooping it up with traditional sunscreen and feeling greasy all day. To test this sunscreen, I used it on the right half of my face, while using my usual SPF 30 face product (Sun Bum) on the left side, before spending the afternoon outdoors. This sunscreen goes on white, like zinc products generally do, but it easily blends into the skin. I'm too pale myself to be able to tell if it leaves a white cast, but I for one could not tell it was there. It feels moisturizing, but not greasy. After several hours in and out of the sun (without reapplying), my forehead was very slightly pink, which is to be expected. What is encouraging was that there was no significant difference in the amount of burn I got on my right side vs. my left. This tells me that this sunscreen is as effective as the product I usually use. The product description states that it is for the face and body, but it's a little too expensive to be slathering all over; I'll be sticking with my face and the back of my hands. This was the first tallow product I've tried after hearing a lot of people talk positively about it, so I wasn't sure what to expect from it. I do want to mention first that this product comes as a two pack, it's not advertised in the title as such, but I noticed in the product description it says 2 units. That's a huge plus. The packaging is nice and the container looks high quality. The ingredients all seem healthy as well. The only concern I had with it is that some of the oils in it might make me feel greasy because I have combination skin, but so far I haven't had any issues. The consistency of the sunscreen looks thicker in the container than it actually is which I liked a lot - it goes on your skin pretty thin so you don't have that weird white layer on your skin while waiting for the sunscreen to absorb. It also smells faintly like normal sunscreen but it doesn't seem to last longer than a few seconds after you apply it.
