I bought this because I use two bars in the shower (one for soap and one for shampoo) and my husband has his own bar of soap. We have a niche in our walk in shower that's too shallow for the large bottles of shampoo my husband uses but so tall that it's a lot of wasted space to just put bars in it. This three tier bar holder was the perfect solution to organize our soaps and make use of the niche. I didn't mount it to the wall - it just sits in the niche, and it's been a great addition to keep our stuff organized. It has never been knocked over as it's pretty sturdy sitting on its own. I purchased silicone soap holders to put inside each shelf so that the water from each bar would drip out in front instead of the middle getting lower bars soggy.
