I bought this ultrasonic cleaner to clean my husband's retainer/night guard, and I’m really impressed with how well it works. After one cycle, the water is noticeably cloudy, which tells me it’s actually removing buildup I couldn’t get with just brushing. The only issue is that the lid does not stay open once you are complete - therefore, it's hard for it to dry inside. Before buying this product, I only used warm water and retainer tablets to clean my retainers, which cleaned them but oftentimes left behind hard plaque on hard-to-reach surfaces. Using this product with the tablets has cleaned the buildup after a 10-minute cycle and significantly whitened it. The UV lights in the cleaner also get rid of any remaining bacteria and germs, keeping the retainer clean. It's also easier to use than tablets, as you just put in cold water and the retainer and turn it on while brushing your teeth.
