This stuff works great. No, your item will never look like new, but it blends really well and with some proper technique you can make it work really well. I had a 20+ year old chair that the arms finally wore a hole where my elbows rub and needed a patch. This leather repair kit is exactly what was called for. It stretched well, and had a texture just like chair itself. Perfect! Pro Tips: 1. Make sure you clean the area. Oils from your hands/arms/whatever can cause the patch to still less well. Quite honestly this stuff sticks like heck no matter what, but make it really a permanent fix by adhering it to a clean surface. 2. Cut it with fabric shears. This will make the cut smooth and you can cut across in one swipe making it perfect. Regular scissors won't do as well and should only be used in a pinch. Make sure whatever you use is SHARP. 3. Cut a tiny bit more than you need. Not too much, because it stretches really well so you can make it tight. 4. When you lay it down, start at one corner or side and stretch and lay it into position keeping constant pressure on it. That will give it a really tight fit and a nice smooth transition from the original material. 5. Finally, if you have worn spots that are uneven, back fill with foam, or some material so that the surface is nice and as flat as you can make it. This will make the repair look better and have the support underneath. It will look great. Good luck! Read more

We had a rip in the seat in the car that was in an awkward place and this was the second option we tried. The first one was a letdown. The repair tape is thick enough to be sturdy and has lasted really well considering the awkward placement. Plus we have extra in case we get another rip. Great price, great quality. Read more

Installed 2/27/24 on a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan driver seat, left side of seat cushion. The piece you are looking at is about 6.5" wide, 3.5" tall (left side) and 2.5" tall (right side.) See before/after pictures. Will try to post update on durability around May/June 2024. *Update 9/6/24... still holding and looking strong. No peeling, cracking, fading, or flaking.* Appearance: The pebbled black repair patch is a good match to the OEM. The tape is slightly on the matte side, the OEM is almost semi-gloss. The patch seems to be just the right thickness, can't be too thin or it won't be durable. Any thicker and it would be a bulky eye sore. It doesn't look perfect, but we were looking mainly for function with as much form as possible. Ease of use: Cleaned the seat first with Windex. Removed any lint with a clean, dry cloth. Installed on a warm day, it was about 60 F today. The tape unrolls easily, cuts easily with a sharp scissor. Backing peels off easily. I chose to round off each corner, thought it looked better, and would also be less likely to get a snag on a rounded edge vs. sharp 90 degree corners. If you look closely, the outer edges of the patch are white. I didn't really notice until the patch was down and it was adhered very well. I tried to touch it up with a fine point Sharpie, but not really happy with how that turned out. Depending how much that bothers me, I may pull up the patch and reinstall a new patch that's 1/16" wider all around to cover my sloppiness. In hindsight, I might have been better off trying to color the edges/sides of the tape prior to applying it to the seat. I'll leave that decision up to you. Either way, just try a small sample test patch on the side first and see if you like how it looks colored/stained by a Sharpie first. Overall, happy with the purchase so far. If possible, I'd prefer to buy a car with cloth seats to not even have to worry about something like this again. Read more

Second update: Even heat couldn't keep the tape on so I have to retire the bag. The original finish was sort of sprayed on and if I could find something similar like that like a spray vinyl, that might work. In all other respects, the bag is in great shape and it's really nice bag. I don't want to let it go If I don't have to. First try: bought the tape to repair the black vinyl coating on a really nice gym bag that's old. The coating on the handles and trim gradually degraded and peeled off. As you can see it didn't stick. It's not sticky enough on malleable, curved surfaces. It started to come off in a few places after two uses. I'm going to try again with another product. Update: I bought the same tape later in a sheet roll, not realizing it was the same product. One of these reviews advised using heat and that's what I did this time. It sticks better that way. The original tape that I put it around the handles was wound around the handles so that worked a little bit better and it's still sticking for the most part. The second time I applied the vinyl to the side panels, in the first photo, I ironed it between two layers of material to apply heat. If I did it again I'd probably use my hair dryer. But it definitely looks better and it doesn't look like it's going to come off this week or even next week. So we'll see. And I still have quite a bit left over if I have to redo it. Read more

This patch was easy to apply and after a month is holding up well. The color was a perfect matchβcan barely tell itβs there. The large size is very convenient. Read more
