I'm in the medical field, do a lot of writing and signing, and it all needs to be bold enough to be read easily in original and copy form. PROs 1. These are BOLD. Much bolder than a 1pt. 2. I'm also in school this year so I've written reams of notes since purchasing these in January. It's the end of summer semester and I have been going to school non-stop this year. I still have more than half the box of 36 left. 3. Also the clickers always work, none have stuck. 4. No dry ones in the box so far. Cons: #1. They dribble - in other words, sometimes too much ink comes out and creates a bleb on the page, causing the writing to become illegible. #2. They will smudge if fingers touch the writing before the writing is dry. They also smudge if you go over them with a highlighter, even if they have dried. #3. Because of 1 and 2 above, it can be difficult to write small with them. They are not suitable where you need to have clear, fine letters, such as in your Bible for instance. I love bold point pens (1.6 mm ballpoint), which sadly are getting harder to come by these days. I have the Crystal Stick version also, both are smooth writing with rich ink, but I love that these are retractable so i don't have to keep track of not losing the cap. The Velocity also has a comfortable grip whereas the Crystal Stick is simply a clear stick pen. I can clip the retractable pen on my clothes (lapel or waistband) as I'm walking around at work & always have it on hard without accidentally getting ink all over me. I'm possessive of my bold pens. These only last me an average of about 2-3 wks each at work & everybody loves the smooth bold pens I wrote with but sorry they have to buy their own. Great prices here for a large box that lasts a while, I buy both black and blue ink to interchange as desired. Great pens, I hope Bic doesn't stop making them! I write with pressure so fine point pens only cut the paper. This is bold enough to avoid the cut/torn paper; although it did not seem to be 1.6 mm…it feels more like a 1.2 mm. Regardless, I am still satisfied and recommend this. Note: it did smudge a bit when I rubbed it too quickly. Read more
