Very colourful and beautiful, bright when lit and lovely I will enjoy this land for many years to come but I do need to caution you that the description says the shade is made out of glass and assembled by hand which cannot be the case at all because it is plastic as well as the soldering which is also plastic. Beautiful lamp, but bad craftsmanship. Lamp is indeed very beautiful, the colors and the design are perfect for my daughters bedroom. It is possible to turn the main lamp off and keep the bottom as a nightlight. The rose design reminded me of the Beauty and the Beast cartoon, magical looking, gives room a pleasant ambience. I wish I could keep it, but this lamp has several flaws. The main flaw is on the last two pictures I posted here. There is a huge gap between glass piece and metal that wraps the pieces together. This gap created a hole in the lamp shade. I probably could turn that part towards the wall and never look at it again, but it makes me feel bad that I paid around $250 for a lamp that was not put together properly. I was going to buy the floor lamp too to make it a set, but now I abandoned that idea.
