Just the right size and depth for cats, and they really do work to not just slow down but reduce the food-snarfing. I would estimate that the cats here go through about 40% as much dry food as they used to. They can "graze" from the top easily (which is really more than enough to satiate their hunger, if not their greed). If they want more (now or later), they have to fish bits of kibble out of the crevices of these dishes, which gives them something to do, stimulates their hunt instincts a little, and takes long enough that they eventually get bored with it and go do something else instead of stuffing their faces until they're bursting. The material is easily cleaned, and seems tough enough for years of use, though if you have a cat that likes tearing stuff up, then these might not last so long if they choose to go after these. I'm not sure these would be proper for a small dog, because of their long, sticky tongues. Probably need a slow-feeder dish with deeper ridges. But the deep ones for dogs would be too deep for cats. PS: I would not use this sort of thing for wet food. I guess someone could try it, but it would be a mess and would result in a lot of food waste, since a bunch of the food would remain stuck in the grooves. That would also quickly turn into a bacteria and mold farm. If you insist, then be sure to wash this well every single day. Read more

Initial smell was bad, once washed was better. These work well for my very over weight cat that races to eat each bite of food then spit it up. It slows him down enough for him to actually chew his food. It’s nice and soft so it doesn’t give whisker fatigue. They clean up nice in the dishwasher. Works well for dry and wet food. Read more

I picked up this slow feeder bowl for one of my two cats who eats way too fast and then tries to steal her sister’s food. I wanted something that would slow her down without frustrating her, and this actually worked really well. Pros: • Really helps slow down fast eaters • Stays in place — doesn’t slide around at all • Nice large size and easily fits a full portion of dry food • Silicone material is flexible and feels durable Cons: • The grooves are tough to clean if you use wet food and don’t rinse immediately • I wish it were raised a little higher so it had more depth Overall, it’s been effective for slowing my cat’s eating and helping keep her out of her sister’s bowl. If you need something simple that works, this is a solid choice — just be prepared to rinse it right away if you’re using wet food. Read more

This is a great size and I like the silicone because it’s easy to clean and care for. The product works well and slowed down my cat until he inevitably realized that the bowl is light and he flipped the bowl and ate the food off the floor. If you have a smart pet I would consider a heavier option. Read more

Great product, great value! I had not used food puzzles before, my cats are 8 and 6. They were getting sick and with aging I thought their fast eating was the problem. Average cat kibble size the dish has plenty of space to hold more than a quarter cup (likely up to a half cup) If you overlap kibble bites its about a height of 2-3 kibble deep. It has helped slow their eating and improved their health, reducing the vomitting. I strongly recommend supervising for the first week if you have never used one with your pet. Flash took a brute approach. He learned he can bite/ripe the plastic to get a grip and flip the kibble out. I started with his mostly in the wider areas as he struggled to figure out how to get it out. Once he got better I moved it to more narrow spaces. Otis approached strategically. He maneuvers the food with light paw touches, his tongue and approaching from different angles. It slowed the both of them down by about 75-80% for the first week. With mastery, about 3 weeks in, they are eating quicker, but still eating about 40-50% slower than before this amazing feeder. I highly recommend trying it for the value, just observe for safety, especially if you have a brute force pet, also it is just fun to see how they think about and approach the challenge! Read more

Item as described. We use these for our cat, he eats super fast and they help slow him down a bit. He can still eat faster than the other cats but I think overall these are a better option than just a regular bowl. Food cleans out easily and we have ran them through the dishwasher with no problems. Read more

Got these bowls to try to slow down the snarfing of 2 of our 3 cats, who are siblings and eat out of a double bowl. They did take to it quickly and figured it out. Hoping this reducing the barfing due to fast eating . Read more

I have two greedy greedy cats that love to scarf down their food too fast and they end up leaving me fun little puke presents. These work pretty well, quality seems nice, and price is reasonable. Way less mess for me to clean up now! Read more
