I bought these only to wash dishes with to save my hands from the hot water and detergents. For that purpose, they work great if the water isn't too hot (I'd need lined gloves for very hot water). They are thicker than some of the others I've tried, so they last longer. I've had a few pairs over time, I used them when doing dirty jobs outside as well, and every so often I get a hole or tear in the right glove (since I'm right handed, I'm doing more with the right glove) so I replace the pair.
