I’m 5'7", and finding high-waisted, wide-leg pants that actually cover my ankles is a rare miracle. These Billabong pants? Perfection. The length is spot on, and the cinched, elastic waistband does a great job of smoothing out the midsection without being uncomfortable. They’re lightweight and breezy, which makes them ideal for hot days—especially those “I didn’t have time to shave” kind of days. I wear them constantly. They double as a swimsuit cover-up for beach days, but I also dress them up for work with sneakers and a tee, or keep it casual on the weekend with a tube top and flip flops. The vertical stripes are super flattering—unlike horizontal stripes that can sometimes give “larger than life” energy (and not in the Beyoncé way). As for sizing, I fluctuate between 130–135 lbs and ordered a small. They’re a little snug in the rear (not complaining), but because of the stretchy waistband, they’re still comfy. 1) first go around they sent a completely wrong product (hence 4 stars). I re-ordered. I purchased and xs. I am 5ft, 110 lbs. Once I washed and dried, they fit nice except the length of course (they look long in the photos and well they are!!). I dropped them off to be altered today. I am excited about wearing them, light & airy for summer. You can see through them, but with that said they make a perfect bottom over swim wear (not my plan). I struggled a bit pairing them with the correct color top. I am trying a pink lace Cami with a knit see-through summer sweater/top. The color in the pant has a small pink stripe. Read more
First pair ordered a small and they fit perfectly more like a medium would. With a few washings in cold water delicate cycle, a back pocket started unraveling. Color faded a bit. Ordered another pair in small because they were comfy. They came and were really small so returned. Ordered a medium. They ran very small like the second "small" I ordered. Returned the second and third pairs and will not reorder. Would be great if the sizing was consistent. Also, third pair had loose stitching on a pocket. Truly loved the first pair. I ordered a large and I’m 5’8”. It’s a size 10/12 and I typically wear a 6 or an 8 so I recommend sizing up if you are taller or have a butt! They fit me perfectly. PROS: I love the style, and I love that these are true-to-size and almost ebbing on the smaller side, because they’re actually a perfect fit. Nice pattern, high-waisted band hits just right, and these would totally be the perfect beach-core casual pants until we factor in the… CONS: made out of the world’s thinnest, cheapest fabric. Transparent scratchy gauze that more resembles mesh. Even the dark ones aren’t squat proof. Bend over and you’ll bare all. They could have at least added a lining, lol. These pants are pretty short, and they’ll only get shorter with every wash. So if you’re tall, enjoy your soon-to-be ankle pants. And finally, the stitching is atrocious. The elastic threads in the waist band started to unravel after just one wear. These are the kind of pants that I fully believe will spontaneously split at the seat one day. I wish they put more effort into producing these, because they could have been great. But as they are, they’re not worth the price. Read more
