According to the Birkenstock sizing chart, I would wear a size 39 but those were an inch too long for me. Also, I find that their medium width sandals are way too wide. So I ended up with size 38 N (narrow) for my US size 8.5 medium width feet. They fit perfect! And the fit is really important to get right with these sandals. When you get the correct fit, it's true what others say in regards to relieving foot pain. I have very high arches that constantly ache. They don't hurt any more! I can wear these sandals all day long and my feet feel great. No arch pain, no cramping in my toes and my knees no longer hurt. I live in these sandals. I wear them to work, I wear them on weekends. I wear them everywhere. I wish I'd bought these years ago. I love the Habana oiled leather. The amalfi leather is more visually appealing (if you love leather) but I found it to be way too stiff. The Habana is a bit softer, still takes some breaking in at first but very comfortable after a few wears. These sandals are worth every penny. Read more
