We all know [or should] that tap water is full of horrible chemicals and other cancer-causing stuff; that we were fed a lie about Fluoride. It comes from scrubbing chemical factory smokestacks then it's sold as a necessary 'health agent' because paying for toxic waste removal is extremely costly. I've been using baking soda in my nightly water glass for decades to get rid of my acid indigestion, and it doesn't matter where I lived: East Coast, West Coast. I even worked for the EBMUD in California, which is where I learned all kinds of nasty things about the Municipal water supply: it all sucks. Which is why these little gems are truly a miracle. I finally put away my jar of bicarb! There's no aftertaste, no bitterness or burn in the back of my throat all night, just the pure chill of clean H20, like drinking from a mountain stream. I'm so happy I found these, because our bodies are 75% water, and water reacts to Hertz levels, which is why there's so much road rage. So make sure you buy some of these, put them in 5 gallon jugs, and write "THANK YOU," "PEACE," and "LOVE" on the sides of the container. Not crazy... do the research~💦 Read more
These are great! I’ve purchased several times for our drinking water and even place them in our thermos. I did do a taste test with regular tap water and these definitely make the water taste cleaner! And you can simply reuse them by boiling them in hot water. Read more
This works great. The water tastes much fresher and crisper, pure. Superior to any type of chemical filtering system I have tried. Only 4 stars due to the high price. Read more
My first day of class in my PhD completely threw me off and opened my eyes as I was listening to a cancer lecture. I've always been into my health, wellness and fitness, trying my best to help maintain my body as best as I can. I intermittent fast to limit my caloric intake and give my body time to reset, and consume key vitamins that are antioxidants. All of these methods are anti-cancer and using a Brita filter for my water was another way I could control what I consumed. I always believed that the hormones, microplastics and carcinogens in water was pseudo-science, with half truths and half exaggerations. HOWEVER, this cancer class flipped my world upside down and essentially told me all of it was in fact true and that one of the only ways to purify your water was charcoal. After that class I bought a few sticks of this charcoal to use and give to others. I'm not sure how well it does at purifying water or if it just filters chlorine, but the size of it fits perfectly in my Brita. If anyone has done pH/litmus tests, please respond and let me know how well this works. However, for piece of mind I use this and then boil it every few months to remove the impurities and reuse it. If you are like me, the money I spent on this to purify my water is well worth it if it helps prevent even 1% of a disease occurring in the future. Read more
I compared and compared and recompared before buying this water filter. I read online why and how it works. I have been using other activated charcoal for other purposes for years now. This is the highest quality and lasts much longer then other activated charcoal and other types of water filters, it goes through an extra process. Takes a day or two to get use to the minerals back in the water, then after that, not a single problem. I had moved into an area that had PFOAs and PFOSs in the water, I wanted the best water filter possible. I had been using Shungite and another charcoal filter. This brand has the highest quality and longest lasting, too. I think they said they use a laser to increase it's effectiveness. Money wise, it's the best bargain. You only use 1 stick for 6 months, I think it does up to 3 gallons at a time. Read more
Takes odors and chemicals out of water. We live in the city where chlorine is used to treat the water and it always smells and tastes terrible. This eliminates all of that. Read more
In terms of filtration, this product does as good a job as any of its competitors. Tap water tastes much better when I use it. My only issue is that the charcoal floats to the top of my 1-gallon pitcher and stays there. It's as buoyant as styrofoam. So pouring into a glass or to-go bottle creates a mess. This happens even after I boil the charcoal. All other charcoal filters stay at the bottom. If this only happened at first -- if the charcoal sank to the bottom after it gets waterlogged -- I'd rate it more highly. But after 2 months, it still floats. Call me picky, but this is annoying, and it's unique to this particular brand. Read more
