If you have carpet or thick rugs, this does not replace a powerful, corded vacuum. With that said... I think this vacuum is really worth its price. I would rather have 3 of these around the house than a single Dyson stick vacuum. The head on the Black+Decker is on the smaller size, but it has a nice flexible head that lets you steer it where needed. It can go completely flat to the ground and get under furniture better than a robot vacuum. I am not using the battery, but opted to add an adapter that lets me use my 18V Makita power tool batteries. The charger it can't with charges extremely slow, and the battery is only 2Ah, which is tiny. The vacuum motor is quite powerful and has a sensor when on the low setting and you're vacuuming carpet, it kicks up temporarily into the high setting, which I really like This vacuum has a nicely engineered collection bin that does an excellent job, even when nearly full. If you have hardwood or tile floors with a few short pile rugs, this vacuum is excellent! I've always thought Black+Decker brand to of the lowest quality, but I'm impressed. I mainly got this because it was 18V power tool battery compatible, like Makita 18V LXT, DeWalt 20V Max, or Milwaukee M18 with the addition of an adapter. Read more

Grew tired of wrestling big vacuum. This machine is great. Compact, gets under most furniture, easy to clean, the shift from hard floor to carpet auto feature is great. Replacement parts inexpensive and easy to find. I already had several 20v Black and Decker tools so that was nice. With one spare battery always ready to use. My only gripe is the filter. Something a little more high tech would be nice. Light is very good. Bought on sale. Read more

The vacuum cleaner works great on low-pile carpets, rugs, and hard floors. It has strong suction and can change how hard it sucks automatically. It's light and easy to use, so it's perfect for quick cleanups. However, I wish the battery lasted longer. Update: I can't charge the battery when it's on the cordless vacuum cleaner, so it's a pain to take it out and charge it separately every time I use it. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this vacuum cleaner in December 2023 and it's still like new. The battery is still like new, I haven't noticed any deterioration in its condition. It vacuums very well, sucks up debris from the floor. Sometimes you just have to unclog the long tube because it gets clogged on wool carpets. But it's really excellent. Lightweight and, to my surprise, it doesn't wear out or break down at all, and the battery is, as you can see, very durable. It's a really good vacuum cleaner. And I've had a dozen or so of them over the last five years. The battery usually died after half a year of use. I will add that I use this vacuum cleaner every day since I bought it, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, but every day I have an apartment, I don't have a house and I don't have pets, but I still think it's perfect for a large family like mine. It's useful for everyday use in the kitchen, dining room, hall.Today I recommended this vacuum cleaner to your friend and I hope that the battery has not lost its quality and that she will be as happy with this vacuum cleaner as I am. This vacuum works great. I love the light. I have cats and hardwood floors and I am always shocked to see how much hair is actually on my floor when I turn it on. (Need to use that push broom more often!) Battery life is decent for me, and about what I expected. I have other B&D power tools, and many batteries, so this was not going to be an issue. Still I bought a 2 pack of extra batteries on the cheap just to keep in the house. The vacuum is very lightweight and maneuverable. The suction power IS adjustable (on a properly working model!) by hitting the power button a second time. It does have a sensor which will kick it up to max should you hit a rough carpet spot, and usually on my berber carpet. If you suck up something that entangles the brush, it turns off until you remove the offending particle. In my case, usually a piece of sisal rope from a cat tree, or the edge of a blanket, etc. There are only 2 things I don't like about it. First; Although it does come with a screw-into-the-wall holder, and it does balance to stand upright by itself, I've had too many instances of knocking it over...sometimes falling down the steps and the dust cup popping off. Instead I wedge the top into a corner, leaning into the wall. This can leave a mark on your wall, but does work. Unless you wanna be a freak and purchase multiple wall holders... Hmm.. Secondly; The dust cup can be hard to empty, and I was surprised at how quickly it fills up. It is easy to get off the vacuum, but hard to pull out the top to empty it, once you do. I am not weak and people tell me I have a very good grip. Anyway I find that putting my left index finger into the opening on the side and pushing up while I pull the top works with less effort, every time. Neither of these "imperfections" is enough to deduct a star though. I've had it for 2.5 months and am waiting for another sale so I can keep one upstairs too. I wanted a vacuum with power, portability, and a powered head brush. Also one with a replaceable battery system. Already been through the "Battery is dead, so is your vacuum" saga with other brands.
