I purchased this for a Caribbean cruise in July since I am very intolerant to heat and get embarrassingly sweaty. It was helpful, but it really didn’t stand up to the high heat and high humidity. It’s also fairly loud, even on its quietest setting. On its highest setting, it is very, very loud. It won’t bother anyone around you, but if you’re embarrassed or trying to be discrete you won’t be next to others. Since my cruise, I have started using it while cooking at home and really love it for that. I get super hot while cooking stovetop recipes, and this helps me tremendously. Every Saturday I meal prep 6 breakfasts, 6 lunches, and 6 dinners for myself and I cook for hours at a time. I used to get so hot I would have to take a break. Now I’m good. The reason I bought this neck fan is because I wanted it to keep me somewhat cool this summer while walking on long walks to get exercise. Indoors this fan is amazing, but outside, if the weather is hot, it blows whatever air is outside which was hot air. And, I don’t like that the vents are pointing more upwards (into the air) than they are pointed inwards ( directly onto the skin) I walked one and a half miles each way, and on hot days I am perspiring so much that my clothes are wet even though I had an umbrella to block the sun I was wiping perspiration off of my face! I wish they had designed the vents where the air would blow more on my neck and face and not up into space where you don’t feel the air when you’re outside. As I said before, this fan is amazing if you use it inside or on days that it’s not so hot outside when walking. I definitely don’t recommend it for people who work outside! However, since the fan does work well indoors, I will keep it and use it inside and raise the thermostat on my air conditioner to see if I can lower my electric bill. Read more
