I've had stubborn chin hairs from childhood ever since I had a bad fall to my chin and had stitches there (the injury for some weird reason stimulated unsightly tiny little black hairs to crop up there--so gross) and I always used to pluck them but it was painful and time consuming and they grew back immediately. I didn't want to pay the high prices for a salon treatment or laser. Finally I read a lot of reviews about home waxing kits and got this one from Amazon, which was 20 bucks cheaper than Sephora. I couldn't be happier. It was easy to use, just pop it in the microwave for four minutes. I also didn't need very much. It dried and was ready to pull off within 4 minutes. After getting over my fear it was going to be painful I gave it a quick yank. Every hair came off on the first try. Every single one. It was no more painful than ripping off a bandaide, and they give you soothing oil and wipes for afterward. I was so happy at how easy and effective this was. My only complaint was the stick was very hard to clean for re-use. A lot of the wax residue is still stuck to it. The great thing is an entire cup of this wax is probably going to last me years, as I only needed a few ounces of it to cover my whole chin. I'm curious to see how fast the hairs grow back, I'm hoping it will be awhile. I'm not sure I would try it on other parts of the body except maybe between the eyebrows but for my purposes this is great. Such a win-win, money saving product. Thank you! Read more
Waxing is never easy or fun. But I've tried all sorts of methods of reducing and removing my facial hair and I keep coming back to this. It's easy, quick and WORKS. It's economical because you can reuse the wax over and over. EASY & EFFECTIVE: So easy to heat in the microwave (use a lower power setting for a longer time for best results and no burns). I keep the mug on parchment paper to collect spills (to reuse!) and prevent the wax on other surfaces. Prepare your skin with the included cleanser and oil, and you will be removing unwanted hair quickly, easily and with a minimum of discomfort. ECONOMICAL: I reuse all the wax but only have hair from ONE previous waxing in it. Here's how. Each time I wax my lip, chin and eyebrows, I put the peeled off wax into a pile on parchment paper. At the end of the session, I put it all in a ziplock bag. Next time, I only heat the wax remaining in the cup. I continue to do this for a number of sessions until not enough wax left in the cup. Then I put all the used wax back in and use it through the same process. If the used wax is not gross (with too much hair) by the time the cup is empty the second time, you can repeat another time. I find that I can wax my face every 7-10 days for approx 4 months with only reusing the wax once, meaning the cost of the waxing is only about $10/month for me. Read more
As much as I am sheerly disappointed by this product, this is not an aggressive comment: just an honest review of the product. Customers should be given value for their hard earned money they spend on buying such products. Firstly, the cup gives away a really bad plastic smell when placed in the microwave and takes so long to melt. It does not warm easily, only the middle melts with the sides left hard. The wax is stringy, not only when it’s cool, just generally. Secondly, it cools down in no time making it really cumbersome to keep heating it again. Thirdly, I have gotten waxing done plenty of time and I am aware that it is a painful process but this wax is beyond uncomfortable and painful. It cracks within seconds and makes it very difficult to get rid of hair. I would like to mention that I read the instructions several times before using the product but it is still rather inconvenient. Additionally, for $20, the wax is so little, it is barely sufficient for one leg. This to me, is a big concern. Even if the product worked fine, the quantity is so little, it is extremely inefficient. Personally very sad to have spent $20 on this. Wish we could return used products. Read more
So...this was definitely an adventure undertaken during Covid-19 when desperate times call for desperate measures. I’m bias because I have no microwave but I boiled a pot of water and then placed this inside (not getting water inside the wax) and waited until it melt. That part sucked but I watched Netflix while stirring. At first, I put the wax on too thinly and it cracked and stuck to my skin and got everywhere. That sucked, but user-error is no fault of the product. Secondly, I wisened up and used a thicker amount of wax and then did two spots at a time so I could remove the wax at the correct temp and feel my hairs ripped out! No pain, really. I messed up a few times and left a trail of wax from the bathroom to the kitchen. But - after vacuuming, scraping, sweating, cursing, and using baby oil to remove excess wax—I can say I have freshly waxed, smooth legs. Pain in the a$$ but worth 3-5 weeks of no shaving. 100% worth the time and effort (clean-up included) but I’d definitely suggest laying down a wide rag under you so when you’re finished, it will be a roll-up and toss and finito. I trusted Bliss and I'm glad I did! This is the same wax they use in their spas and it works great! I have thick coarse hair and I can use this just about anywhere. Best advice is to use the oil included and put on a thick amount for easy removal! It didn't take long for it to melt in the microwave, it took a few minutes which is what I suspected. Application can be messy at first but once I got the hang of it, it was so easy to remove. The only reason I dropped a star is because of the price and quantity. Bliss used to make refill packs but I guess its discontinued because I cant find it anywhere. I would love to buy this all the time but for the price, I'm going to try a different brand and see how it compares. If it doesn't work as good than trust me I'm willing to spend the cash on this.
