This is a really nice looking, high quality boot! it has a short heel - under two inches, has a functional zipper on the side which makes putting the on and taking them off very easy. The bonus is it is waterproof although made with a beautiful, supple, suede leather. As others have mentioned it is a narrow fit which suits my narrow feet well! I have a high instep as well and the boots are very comfortable. I ordered 1/2 size up as recommended by Amazon and the boots fit perfectly! I would purchase again. Read more
Narrow in the toe. Good looking show. Firm and sturdy while looking good to dress up or down. It's begins to get narrow at the foot pad of the big toe. Maybe a larger size would correct. I'm usually a 7.5 to 8. The 8 was too narrow. I have a M width foot, and do not usually have this issue in any shoes or heels. Read more
A lot of comments about sizing- here’s my assessment. The size is consistent with my other Blondos. If you’re wearing a thick sock, you might want to size up. I wear 8 1/2 sandals, 9 in boots and ordered a 9. I wear thin cotton footies and they’re fine. In regard to the comments concerning 2 zippers and 1 not working, as with my other Blondos, one zipper is ornamental. If you look at the inside of the boot, you can see that one won’t work as there’s no sign of it inside the boot. It is not a malfunction of the boot. I like the boot and was particularly pleased about the great price as I paid twice as much at a high end department store 2 years ago for a similar boot, and felt great about that purchase too! I ordered these boos (size 7) in both brown leather and brown suede. Was surprised by how different they were. The suede looks and feels like better quality, but it is also much more snug, rubs at the ankle, and pinches at the toe. The leather looks cheaper in quality but has a slightly looser and more forgiving fit; however, the zippers are a nightmare to get up and down, and the stiff, cheap leather rubs the skin of your ankle at the top. That being said, both look nice on, and I like how slim the ankle opening is. It’s just super disappointing that both are so uncomfortable and that neither fits quite right. Read more
This is my second pair of Blondo boots, since my 7-year-old pair have finally hit the point where they will only be weekend boots (there’s a wear mark on the sides but they still have a lot of life). I followed recommendations and ordered up a half size. They fit perfectly. My feet are narrow enough that I didn’t need to order wide. These are similar in style to my old pair, with an upgrade to a lug sole. Let’s talk waterproof. My previous boots have been through everything New England could throw at them, plus getting submerged in deep mud while I was shooting photos at a fire scene. They’ve been coated in road salt, walked through inches of water, hiked trails and still looked cute with a casual dress for work. For the mud incident, I rinsed them off, put them out to dry, and gave them a brush — still lovely black suede. These things are magic and worth the price. Read more
I love Blondo boots. I have a few pairs. They are well made and comfortable . HOWEVER, there is a big problem with this pair. I was excited to see zippers both on the inside and outside of the boot. Having a high instep, this looked perfect. Unfortunately the outside zipper on both boots does not work. It won’t budge. I have tried repeatedly and for long periods to get the outside zipper down on both boots. I can struggle (I mean struggle) to get the boot on with only one zipper down. I can but it takes major effort. I can’t decide whether to return or fight it since the boots are beautiful. Ask that the zippers be checked before purchasing. Update: well, I'm an idiot. My Samara ankle boots in dark brown suede look great, in new condition, and were well-packaged. The inside functional zippers work fine. I didn’t attempt to manipulate the outside zippers since they are clearly decorative (there’s no interior split/opening behind the decorative zippers. I have three other pairs of Blondo ankle boots I wear comfortably in 8.5M. I purchased these in 8.5W, yet I find they are unexpectedly tight behind the toe box area on me. I will use a shoe stretcher to remedy the problem, and I expect the leather will get softer and more comfortable with wear as my older ones have. Read more
The boot looks good. But it’s extremely hard to put the foot in. The opening is way too small. Once the foot is in, the boots are comfortable. I’m not going to struggle to wear it. So it will be going back. There are two zippers on both side. But only one is functional. If both are working, it will help to wear. Read more
