I’ve been using a silmilar Japanese brand styler which eventually broke down after 15 years. I had trouble finding one, so I ordered this one on Amazon. It looks very similar, but not as high quality, but it does the job. First of all, this is not a “hair dryer.” You have to dry about 75% of your hair and then use this device as a styler. I use a glove on one had to help with the drying. It has three settings: cool, medium heat and high heat. When you change the settings, the sound is the same, but it does change. The bristles on the wand is tough, so it does hurt the scalp a little. Overall, it does the job, but not sure how long it will last. Read more

I have another almost identical dryer that I love to use for travel as it's dual voltage. Do not purchase this dryer if that's what you're looking for. It's not advertised as such. I'm happy to use this one now as my everyday dryer. It's light weight, has 2 drying speeds and a cooling option and has a cord that's long enough for my needs. I love that the bristles are nylon. Porcupine style bristles are hard on my thick hair. It doesn't take up a lot of space, it's easy to use and my hair looks like I've just had a salon blow out. Read more
