I really like this pan to cook in. It is non stick, cooks evenly, heat distribution is good, it is a good weight, made well. Dishwasher safe. I plan on getting others in different sizes. Cleanup is a breeze. After a few usues, I usually put a drop of o oil on it and rub it around. It doesn't really need that but I do that with all my good pans. I like that it is no stick without the chemicals that others have. Read more

I've owned two of these blue diamond pans for several years now. Their durability is unmatched, best pans ever. Note that I use them without oils/butter, I use water for all my stovetop cooking purposes. Nothing sticks to the bottom. I use a silicone spatula, and most amazingly, I use a relatively course sponge to clean the pans when I'm done that works like a charm: CLEANING: I use the O-Cedar blue/green scrunge sponges. The green side is so coarse it's almost like sandpaper. You'd swear it'd scratch, but it doesn't... Immediately after I cook something, I empty the pan of the food and water, and under hot water I use the coarse side of the sponge to scrape the food residue off; you have to scrape/rub briefly and then, very importantly, run that coarse part of the sponge that you just used on the pan under water to get the residue you scraped off the pan...that's now on the green...OFF that part of the sponge. Takes a second. Then go back and continue with the freshly rinsed part of the sponge. Getting that residue off the sponge by just running it under water for a second re-surfaces that part of the sponge and you can continue "scraping" the residue off the pan with that part of the sponge. If you do NOT rinse that residue off the sponge, the sponge loses it's effectiveness dramatically; it reduces the abrasiveness way down. It's kinda amazing how just rinsing that little bit off the sponge renews it instantly, but it seems to literally remove exactly what you want it to, without any damage, and will continue to if it is unhindered by residue stuck to the sponge. It is abrasive! But it WORKS. AND...IT DOESN'T SCRATCH! Best-ever pan and sponge combo. The sponge is great, but I credit the pan and this special (and extremely importantly non-toxic) surface for these results. (On the toxic note, I would never buy the product unless it was as non-toxic as possible. I won't use the vast majority of pans on the market because of this factor). Several years now, using it almost daily, and cleaning it this way, and this amazing pan has NO scratches on it. I do use a silicone spatula as mentioned, I don't know if a metal one would scratch, but I tend to think the pan can handle it, perhaps just not as long as using a silicone one. The surface is just amazing, this should be THE standard for pans. BUT...SHIPPING...Welp, I'm not gonna blame the company. I guess I have to blame Amazon. I ordered the two-pan set as a gift for someone, and the large box arrived all broken open with the pans separated from each other and the manufacturer's packaging all torn apart. I can't give the gift like that. So I had to go to a local retail outlet and buy something similar (same brand, they just didn't have the same two-pan combo at the store I went to). My order was the 10 and 12 inch. I don't know if the packaging/shipping issue is with this combo because of awkward-sized boxes (which I think may be the issue) or what. The box was oversized for the product, no packaging filler to avoid it sliding around, and I could see where an item like this with edge and weight could pierce a box with only one strip of tape and so large that the product would shift and bounce all over the place inside of it. But great pans, the best, period. Read more

I purchased this pan and thought ...well its a bit lighter than my other pans, surprisingly its a great pan. This is definitely non stick and it cooks evenly. Rhe price was right when it was on sale. I try not to use any abrasive utensils..just in case. I really like cooking with the blue diamond pan. I will purchase another one as a back up. Read more

Teflon is very slippery which is why it is so non-stick. Ceramic is non-stick in a different way. It is very hard and very non-porous so there are no crevices for the food to stick. Aluminum is relatively soft and expands a lot with heat. Because it is soft, the thin coating of ceramic can chip easily from bangs and may get heat cracks from expansion which can then catch food. I've also tried ceramic on stainless steel. It's a step up since the stainless steel's hardness resists dents better and doesn't expand as much. This pan, however, ceramic over hard anodize over aluminum seems like the best combination Time will tell. This is why. Hard anodized aluminum is a very hard and thick coating. It gives the ceramic a thick hard substrate to adhere to. is very thick so it will resist dents. Having a hard undercoating for the ceramic should make it very chip resistant. You should be able to use steel utensils on this. I'll give you an update if there is a change Read more
