This rug has a top that is soft under your feet. The listing suggests that it is good for a playroom, and that it is washable makes it desirable for that, but if you choose one for children to crawl on, you will want to put a rug pad under it as it is not padded at all. While this was marketed as being for girls and nurseries, it’s also ideal for those whose aesthetic preference is for a sweet and romantic look. The thinness of it is also good under a desk or where someone who has trouble lifting their feet might walk. Every rug I have of this type washes up so well, lays flat (after a short time) and is not prone to sliding. I really enjoy the softness of it, though this one will be in a room where I am never barefoot. I did walk on it barefoot, though, to test it. Just like the huge, similar one, I have in my bedroom, it’s nice under the feet. I chose a size to go with my desk, which is a perfect size for the room. If this pattern suits the space you want, and you understand that it will need padding if its to be used for children to crawl and sit on, or if you want a more plush feel, then I would not hesitate to buy this lovely (and washable!) rug.
