We keep a bucket of sunflower seed near the front door for refilling bird feeders. For years an orange 5 gallon bucket served this function. We like woven baskets and have several, but bird seed needs a liner, so the Bluewest 4.5 gallon with its plastic liner is perfect. It's really too nice a basket to call it a trash can. It's interestingly made from water hyacinth, an invasive plant we used to keep in our water garden. There wasn't any odor when it was unpacked and the quality of construction seems excellent--true to the image on the item page. The lid fits well, though of course it can't seal since can and lid are woven; there are four ingenious woven loops in the lid so it stays in place. For our purpose we do wish it was a bit larger, but it works fine as is and will fit pretty much anywhere you want to keep it. Hopefully it will last. Read more
