Arnica cream has been used for the treatment of muscle strains, tendon sprains and a plethora of other ills for hundreds of years. It was widely dispensed by family docs for generations. I believe the medicinal qualities of the Arnica Montana flower were first discovered by the North American Indians several hundred years ago. I used it for plantar fasciitis after everything else had failed. This included orthodeic shoe inserts, every NSAID on the market, multiple cortisone injections and lastly surgery. Nothing worked. My Mom (an M.D.) suggested I try Arnica Gel but not to expect any miracle cure and that it would probably take several weeks of three times a day applications before I noticed any improvement. It actually took about 3 weeks and I noticed a dramatic improvement; no pain. Not a reduction in pain, the elimination of pain in my feet. This was about 15 years ago. I always keep Arnica gel on hand and if my plantar fasciitis flares up I go back to the three a day treatments and after a couple of days, no pain. If this product had a muli-million dollar advertising network and required an Rx it would cost $100 a tube. It's like a lot of things in medical care, simple is often best. Read more

I have used Arnica for years, so long in fact that I have forgotten how I found it. Bruises heal in half the time, sprains, strains, muscle aches go away after a few applications. It is not greasy but dissolves right into the skin w/ no odor. I was surprised when I had to have a small plastic surgery done that the doctor recommended using Arnica for 2 weeks before and after surgery. My mother is 88 years old, and on Plavix and aspirin. Consequently, she bruises extremely easily - often, all she has to do is brush up against anything solid such as a door frame or rest her arm on a table. Arnicare Ointment has been amazing in making the bruises lighter in appearance and then just disappearing; normally, she would be trying to hide a bruise for days. I don't know how well this product works in other respects, but when it comes to dealing with bruises, I would highly recommend it. Read more
