small base and the rear wheels don't spin freely after 2 weeks

The scooter is just the right size for my 4yr old. I would not recommend for an 8yr old. The handle may raise high enough, but there wouldn't be enough room for both feet with the larger foot size of a 7-8yr old. Also, after two weeks of occasional use, the rear wheels no longer spin freely meaning it doesn't coast very well. Do not recommend. Read more
