The compact machine does a good job of making tight vacuum packed food packages. Read more
GET ONE. Doesn't have to be the biggest one but GET ONE. This is the 2nd Bosenkitchen sealer I've tried and I cannot say enough good things about it. My original one was smaller and still perfectly serviceable, getting the bigger/fancier model was entirely my indulgence. The machines are well designed and intuitive - for example they build in a cord wrap which seems like a silly thing until you're wasting time unwinding cords from your cabinets. This one is definitely on the larger size but IMO it's worth the space. The buttons show their purpose clearly and they're easy to manipulate. This model is, for me, a little easier to use; it has a small (green) clip to help hold the bags in place - much better than trying to balance it with my hands. It seals beautifully - one cycle & it's done, no 2nd pass needed. It doesn't seem to get too hot, either, a good safety feature. To me, the best thing about this is how well it keeps my food fresh and safe, with absolutely zero freezer burn. Check out the pix: - Chicken tenders from August - nearly 4 months ago - Marinated chicken from early October - ready to thaw & cook - The summer's last blueberries (for Wife, who loves them in her yogurt) - nearly 3 months frozen and still taste garden fresh. - Not just for freezer storage: We have a tiny, elderly dog, who we tempt with bits of beef in her "kidney diet" food. She eats so little, tho, it's wasteful to cook a lot all at once. I vac-sealed some literally a month ago; it's been in the fridge, not the freezer, all that time and look how fresh it still looks today. AND (although IDK if this is "recommended") I have - twice - cut the end open, squeezed out some to cook, and re-sealed it - STILL FRESH. It comes with a decent amount of bags as well as an open ended roll, which you can customize to whatever you need (as with the blueberries). The bags have the perfect thickness, not too stiff but strong enough to protect the food. I used the pulse seal feature on my old one once, I haven't had the need yet with this one but expect it will be just as good. I'm not entirely sure what the accessory stuff is for, maybe canning? Not something I'm into so I probably won't use that feature but it seems pretty standard. REMEMBER TO CHECK AND CLEAN THE TRAY. You don't think about it but when it's vacuuming out the air, it brings a fair amount of the food 'detritus' with it, especially when sealing meat. The tray is easy to clean and you should do it every time or you'll end up contaminating everything afterwards. I opted for the pricier one but the others are likely great too, as was my last one. I think this is well worth the advertised price of under $120, especially when you consider how much food gets wasted from improper sealing & freezing. How many times have you unearthed a 3 month old package from the freezer and felt like the amount of freezer burn made it a risky dinner choice? My old one kept meat perfect for 4+ months when that would've been freezer-burned trash if I'd used even the most expensive zipper brand version of freezer bags and squeezed all the air I could out of it. TL;DR: get you one, it'll save you money and let you stop wasting food. Also it's kinda fun! NOTE: I occasionally review items based on my impressions after an initial use; all reviews are subject to later update based on any subsequent significant changes/differences. Read more

This Bonsenkitchen Vacuum Sealer for Food is a necessity and a great buy. This thing is perfect for vacuum sealing foods if you buy in bulk, or for saving leftovers to prevent them from going bad so quickly, for preparing meals ahead of time for storage in the refrigerator or freezer, or if you want to try out sous vide cooking. This comes with everything you need to get started, except for the food. It does include a roll of bags and some pre-cut bags. The Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealer does not require you to buy a certain brand of bags to use. You can also use various sizes of bags, depending on your need. This vacuum sealer is easy to set up and to use. I was surprised with the ease of setting this up. It comes with a helpful User Manual which makes the set-up process easy and it has easy to follow instructions for usage. To start vacuum sealing, use either the roll of bags or the pre-cut bags. To use with the roll of bags, simply unroll the plastic roll and align the end to seal with the heat strip; press "seal' to heat seal the one end, then use the slide cutter in this vacuum sealer to cut the bag to the size you want, open the bag you just made and insert the food, then press the vacuum seal mode you wish to use to seal and the process is complete. If you choose to use a pre-cut bag, you simply add the food and select the vacuum seal mode you wish to use. It is that easy! This vacuum sealer is versatile and can be used for sealing meat, liquids such as soups and sauces, vegetables, delicate items like pastries or fruits or soft foods. The Pulse Vac vacuum seal mode works great to keep from crushing soft foods. This sealer does create a solid, reliable seal that will hold up in the freezer. The size of this vacuum sealer is about 16 inches wide by 9 inches deep and 5 inches tall, so it does not take up a lot of space. It is not thick and bulky. It can be easily moved to a storage area between uses. This sealer is stainless steel. It is a solid machine and well made. It is easy to clean up and cleaning up does not take long. I really like this Bonsenkitchen Vacuum Sealer. I do not have any issues or problems with this sealer and I really do like everything about it. If you are looking for a vacuum sealer that will last a long time, is easy to use, and is a good value, this is it. Read more
