This is an epic movie, it had me on the edge of my seat and pulled on my emotions. I watch this movie twice and it still has me wrapped up in it. I have very little knowledge about BJJ and it’s beginning but I now feel with help of this film I have a better understanding and respect for it. This movie has great actors combined with an amazing story along with a great production, this is my favorite movie of the year. I’m excited to add this dvd to my collection of great movies so I can watch it again. If you haven’t I suggest you watch it, it’s simply amazing! Read more

Born A Champion Shows Heart

*Contains No Spoilers* While it's is not going to be winning awards anytime soon, this is a fun fight movie that I really enjoyed. A real throwback to the 1980's & 1990's action fight films. In the spirit of The Rocky and Kickboxer movies, Born A Champion shows heart and grit from beginning to end. Boasting a solid cast with some real fighters making cameos, this is the best non-big budget fighting movie made in recent years. As an ode to the early days of No Holds Barred Fighting (now known as Mixed Martial Arts) this movie really gives some much needed credit to The Gracie Family and their Gracie Jiu Jitsu for being pioneers in the fastest growing sport in the world. I love this movie so much that I had to buy it. It's kind of like a modern Rocky movie, but with jiu-jitsu and MMA for the fighting. Very well acted and as realistic as movie like this can manage. The lead, Sean Patrick Flanery of the Boondock Saints movie, is a a bjj black belt in real life, and he co-wrote the story. The ending is a bit confusing and could have resolved better, but otherwise an excellent film. 5 stars! I hope they make a part 2. Read more
