BOSCH GPB18V-5CN 18V Jobsite Radio with Bluetooth 5 0 and Power Station

We just received this Bosch jobsite radio several weeks ago. So far, we are floored by the features and build quality of this unit. There is absolutely nothing that we don't like about it - but, we have not really had the chance to use in an outdoor location yet. Bluetooth connectivity - perfect and easy, sound quality - perfect and adjustable, build quality - perfect and features - also perfect. I have been using both Bosch and aftermarket 18V batteries in it and the radio performs nicely. Time will tell how the FM radio reception pulls in for us during summer time fun - but the FM reception is very good - even though we live in an area with less than good FM reception anytime. Although not waterproof - we plan on using this unit during our summertime campfires and have no doubt that it will perform nicely with either FM radio or bluetooth for streaming. I’m invested in Makita, but their job site radio is awful, and Milwaukee has that nice bright “steal me” color. This thing has a muted color, loud omnidirectional sound, instant connectivity, runs on battery or with AC cord, built in power strip, and has a usb to keep your device charged. Only drawbacks are that it doesn’t recharge its own batteries like the older models did, and it might not pick up the local sports game if you’re under a heavy roof (get radiogarden app to get around the reception). I use this when indoors and outdoors. Works great for both. This is the second one I ordered because the first one came in an opened box. The speakers did not work so I returned and gave it one more chance, glad I did. I was only disappointed that the plugs do not work unless unit is plugged in, cannot run off of batteries, was looking forward to coffee outdoors. A lot of people put down this speaker, saying it's not loud and the subwoofer isn't the best. I'm not sure what they want from a work Bluetooth speaker. Personally, I've had a great experience using this speaker. I love it, great buy would definitely recommend it. Read more

I have had several worksite radios over the years, as I used to be a full time trim carpenter. I've had two of the Milwaukees and a Dewalt. All were nice. I got this to replace a bluetooth speaker in my garage wood shop. Sometimes I do charity work doing construction for HFH, so I figured I could take it with me then. I waffled on it several times. I got a sale price but still over $150. I almost canceled the order several times because I didn't really need it. But now that I have it, I am not giving it up. It sounds great for a single unit, and it was all of ten minutes setting it up, setting the clock, and learning all I needed to know. The roll cage is solid, and I really like the little garage. This did not come with a battery, so I had to purchase that separately. However, I do like the fact that it's very sturdy and should last for many years. I also like the ac outlets that can power other smaller appliances. This would also be great for a picnic or beach, after I install the battery I've just purchased. Read more
