This is perfect! My toddler only wants to play and explore with real things and typically has little interest in toys I offer him. This one did the trick though! The button is easy for his to use on is own. The beaters stop promptly when pressure is applied, ie fingers touching them! Read more

Loved it. My son is 4 and we are constantly looking for toys that are more realistic. The beaters move, although only one speed but it's not strong so he can't hurt himself. He uses it in a bowl of uncooked rice to play with. Great toy!! Read more

The mixer is cute--looks like the real thing. The mixer is constructed to shut off when it comes in contact with any resistance (think children's fingers, etc.) but the beater attachments are pretty flimsy. They get bent easily, and as a result, they come in contact with each other on about the second or third turn, shutting it off. Obviously, the little guy gets bored with it then, drops is and moves on to play with Grandma's real one that he digs out of the cabinet. This defeats the purpose of getting the toy. Read more

It's cute, but not worth the price paid for it. It's designed to shut off when it meets resistance which is all well and good, but the beaters are so flimsy that they bend and warp and then it won't work because they are getting caught on each other. This had been a very frustrating toy for my 4 yr old as he doesn't understand why it isn't working consistently. Read more
