Better than the QC headphones, not as good as 1st Gen QC earbuds

I'm a frequent long-haul flier that learned a long time ago the value of noise cancellation in fighting jet fatigue. Started with Bose QC headphones, upgraded to the earbuds as soon as they came out. Lighter, more compact, and more effective. Eventually those wore out (after a few hundred thousand air miles) and I didn't even look at the competition because Bose had been so good to me, twice. Got a new set and while I can't do a side-by-side comparison, the noise cancellation does not seem to be as good. Before, when you switched them on, the noise virtually stopped. Now, it gets quieter, but the effect is not as dramatic. OTOH, battery life of the new ones is terrific. Read more
