Brace Direct Shoulder Immobilizer with Abduction Pillow Sling for Post Op Rotator Cuff Repair Dislocation and Shoulder Reconstruction

I can’t say there’s anything I dislike. Everything about this support brace is completely perfect! I like the fact that it wraps around the waist so that it holds the cushion up against your side without it moving around. It clips on and off to make it easy for one person. The Velcro is very strong. The strap that goes around the shoulder is extremely comfortable it has a very large cushion for the top of the shoulder a lot longer than other ones offer which makes it more soothing instead of aggravating because it is not thin or too short. I like that it also has a Velcro piece that goes across the sling or your arm is to keep it secure. I was excited to see that there was a bonus I didn’t quite know about until I received it… It comes with a squishy ball that has its own Velcro Holder!!! This is to be used frequently to prevent your hands wrist and muscles from freezing up. It’s good to keep does muscles tendons exercised while wearing the support brace. The cushion itself is extremely comfortable it’s long enough wide enough and most definitely thick enough! This is by far one of the best arm slings I have ever seen! Coming from somebody who has a torn rotator cuff, torn bicep tendon and torn labrum muscle. I would prefer to wear it all day every day but it’s not recommended. Consult with your physician and how long you are to wear it and how long you should keep it off. All I know is that this has helped me out immensely. It is very easy to clean a damp cloth is all you need. I would highly recommend this product to anybody who needs to have their arm in a sling! I have come to appreciate this shoulder immobilizer more and more since purchasing it before I knew I had a tear in my shoulder that I’d have surgery for. I originally used it for instability but I limited my use, fearing I’d end up with frozen shoulder. I had surgery last month and was provided with a DonJoy Ultrasling (seems like it’s the original one they gave me). I reacted to the metal on the snaps in the immobilizer, so I assume it had nickel in it. Eventually I brought this immobilizer to one of my post op appointments and asked if I could use it instead of the one I was sent home from surgery with. My surgeon looked at it and said he actually provides similar ones after surgery to some of his patients and it would work for me. I tried it but I discovered that I had to reposition the “arm cradle” part on the pillow part in order to get my arm in the perfect position. My arm is very picky since my surgery about the position it’s in, but I think it’s been happy since I played with it a bit and found that sweet spot. Much happier than with the DonJoy one. I’ve got a few more weeks to go in it and I like that it is easy to remove and put back on. The part that goes around the waist has a clip that releases it easily and makes it easy to put back on without having to mess around with the velcro every time.
