This chopper replaced a Cuisinart mini prep that finally cracked up. The Braun is a far superior product. The bowl is a heavier plastic, polycarbonate I think, and the whole thing feels more solid. The motor is a bit quieter and has plenty of power. I use it mainly to emulsify vinaigrettes and it does so beautifully, without leaking onto the motor. It’s easy to clean and looks cool. One thing to note is that the heavy motor just sits on the bowl without locking in, which is fine while using it but keep a firm grip on the motor when moving it around. Very happy with this purchase, a great value too. Read more

Love it, well made. What I really like is that the motor is in the top section, which must be removed to get at the food contents. No chance of electrical surges causing some finger damage. I also like that the blades sit on a very small nub verses a tall thin piece of steel. What I wish it had was a handle on the bottom section. It's a little bit akward to hold. Works well, made well, and my best buy of the year. Read more

Being a family that consumes pasta at a volume that outpaces some small nations, the ease of finely grating hard cheese is a serious concern. For one thing, spaghetti all carbonara. For another, cacio e pepe. There are more. In any case, we had accidently overloaded our stick-blender's chopper after some years, and needed a way to finely grate things like hard cheeses again without having to wash the 20 parts of the big food processor to get 8 oz of cheese. So for that it's great. Just cut the cheese to 3/4 inch cubes and load no more than 3.5 oz at a time. The cutting chamber and blades are all dishwasher-safe, and the power-head, which contains the motor, has no chance of contacting food during normal use. The only downside to report is that the power head is not strongly locked onto the cutting chamber, which hasn't been a problem, but isn't something I like. I'd prefer it to lock. But you can't always have everything. Read more

I was really pleased with it the first time I used it, however by the third time I used it, it quit working! Would not recommend purchasing this item. Too pricey for the quality of it to just stop working. I would like my money back! Read more

After years of struggling with a name-brand mini-prep food processor and much research, I purchased the Braun CH3012BK EasyPrep™ Mini Food Processor. With arthritic hands, doing manual fine chopping has become more painful Thus far, the results are exceptional for chopping onion, celery, and garbanzo beans to use in a tuna salad (see photos). The 4 blades versus 2 makes a huge difference for me! It is quieter than my 30+ year old one, much easier to clean, and takes up the same amount of storage space. I'm looking forward to testing it to make a goat cheese vinaigrette dressing that I usually mix with my immersion blender if there's sufficient capacity. As other reviewers have stated, it is NOT a 4-cup capacity and there is a knack to getting the lid on and off. In addition, when I started to register the product online for the 3-year warranty, the web page stated that it was mandatory for me to agree to allow Braun to store cookies and my personal information on my laptop, I declined. If it dies before 3 years of use, there will likely be even better technology that I can purchase. I still have my 30+ year old Braun coffee grinder which has been relegated to grinding herbs and eggshells but it still works fine. Happy Chopping! Read more

Works great if you don't need a bigger unit. I use it between the immersion blender and the big food processor. Find I'm using this most of the time now. Does a really good job and you don't have to do much scraping to get the larger pieces off the side which happens with my larger unit. Hold the top down till you get the consistency you want, and then done. The double blade system seems to work well. Haven't used the little tray thing for emulsions. Not sure I'd use for cheese but for spices, garlic, ginger, parsley etc. When I cook for 8-10 seems like the perfect size and saves a lot of time. Really easy to get the pieces apart. Like the lock mechanism that holds the top on. Easy to use with wet hands. Great product IMO Read more

I’ve had frustrating experiences with mini processors over the years. They never worked as well as promised. But this one is terrific. Outdoes them all. I love the top motor which is more effective and efficient than the usual bottom motor style. The parts connect easily with little fussing. The double blade works better. Less need to push food down. And since the bottom is solid, no hole for the motor, it is easy to remove the blade, scrape out any processed food on the sides without anything dripping out. Makes it easier to clean, as well. I use it often for grating hard cheese and it does an excellent job. Read more

It’s great over all while it worked but the blade has already enough wear and tear in less than 2 years if buying. I bought mine in Nov 2023 and the blade’s spokes on top are already gone and now the blade doesn’t align with the machine. It has stopped working. I could not even find just the blade to buy and it is completely useless at this point!!! Read more
