I am so thankful for this purchase. The ear thermometer is more accurate than to point or scan thermometers. It was definitely worth the price and came with extra ear tips. I love the quality of Braun products and this did not disappoint. The color coded design is great if the man in the house is unsure if the baby has a fever that would warrant medication. Read more
This thing is awesome! At first I tried an Amazon-popular and well reviewed no-touch--the kind of cheap, weird brand stuff Amazon seems to thrive on these days. Readings were wildly inconsistent no matter what I did. 93.5, 98.2 etc. Totally unreliable. Returned. Then I got the Braun. Yesterday morning, it said my temp was 97.3. A little later, my doctor tested my temp by mouth to be 97.2, and an hour later a nurse tested by mouth at 97.4. I'd say the Braun was dead on! Day to day readings have also been pretty consistent. It's fast, it's easy and it's reliable. The only things it's not is the kind of cheap no-brand you have to wade through to find it. Read more
We got this thermometer to replace our extremely inaccurate infrared one and loved it. It was accurate, easy to use with our one year old, and the screen changed color to tell you if the temperature was normal, a low grade fever, or a high fever. Unfortunately, it got bumped off the middle shelf of our changing table and fell maybe a foot to the floor. It now won't turn on and doesn't work at all. We're a little frustrated at how easily it broke with how pricey it was, and it's not in our budget to buy another $50 thermometer to replace it. But it worked well while it worked! Read more
So the whole listing wasn't super consistent about what came in the package, and the thermometer which was delivered to my house was correct, but it was missing the case, and 60 hygiene caps (it only came with 21). Amazon is sending me a replacement so hopefully the replacement comes with everything and the prompt service is why I still gave it 5 stars. I'm extra bummed to not have the case as I just have a loose box of hygjene caps and they could easily be misplaced. This thermometer won't work without them. The thermometer seems to work well. Way better than the temporal one I have which is a huge relief because I need to know the exact temperature of my infant, not an approximate! Over all a good product, but just missing the parts that the original description says is supposed to be included. Read more
So many months later and it’s still my favorite thermometer I’ve ever owned. I wish I would have bought this 4 years ago instead of suffering those long sleepless nights trying to take accurate temperature of my sick child with thermometers that never read correctly. This one is ALWAYS on point. I keep the plastic disposable cover on and always use the same one unless I’m using it on another family member or the one on the thermometer gets damaged. Save money that way. You have to keep it for accurate results, because it’s made to read the temperature with the disposable cover on. Use is easy peasy, and I purposely bought this one also because I HATE trying to mess with thermometers that don’t have a lighted screen for night reading!!!! Don’t waste money buying a sucky one every year, get this one. This one only reads the ear though, so for very young babies that requires rectal, you can’t use it. Read more
ThermoScan 6 VERY Simple and accurate to use when I'm under stress because of my sick child. Turn it on, insert in the ear (properly), and press the temperature button. Fast and Easy to read in the dark bedroom with the light feature. I am buying a second thermometer so my wife and I have one. NOTE: I purchased the latest Thermoscan 7 model, which requires you to set the age group of a baby/toddler EVERY-TIME you want to take a temperature reading -- such a pain. This takes a few seconds, and it's not necessarily easy to do, e.g., gives me memory readings when I don't want to see them. So, unless you need to adjust the thermometer measurements based on the age of a baby under 36 months, stay with the ThermoScan 6. Read more
