With that said, there are an awful lot of Velcro straps used on this product. I mean A LOT. If you are getting this, be sure you buy it beforehand and fit the splint whole you still have both hands, otherwise, you will need help, because the Velcro straps attaches itself to anything. To my surprise, I woke up from surgery with a traditional cloth splint on my arm. It was really uncomfortable. I pulled out the slingshot 3 and put it on and shortly after fell asleep. It is way more comfortable, but it does take some getting used to, especially with the abduction pillow. You have to play with the placement and your body position if you have to sleep with it on. My package didn't come with the attachable exercise ball, gotta ask Amazon about that. But overall, I do recommend this if you need to be in a splint for an extended period of time. Read more
Breg makes tow models. The #2 and the #3. Don't waste time with the #2 model as it will rubl your neck form day one and become very uncomfortable. The #3 just fits like a glove and keeps the straps off your neck while holding the sling closer to the body. It is vastly adjustable and you will get used to it quickly making removing and putting it back on easily accomplished unassisted. I highly recommend the Breg #3. Read more
I purchased this after I have exhausted my search for something to assist my fiance. He had a stroke 2 years ago and has very bad subluxation on the affected side. I decided on the Breg as a co-worker of mine had used Breg Slingshot 2 after his shoulder surgery and liked it. He's been using this for a bit now when we go out mainly, as walking for an extended period of time would cause him to become in a lot of pain from his arm just hanging down. He says it's helped him tremendously with the subluxation. We only use it with one of the abduction pillows and it's really easy for him to get on by himself as well with only have 1 fully functioning arm. Read more
They sent me home from the hospital with some kind of medieval torture device. Had to throw that POS out. My doctor was so impressed with this sling, he wrote down the name to discuss with hospital buyer! Super breathable, great weight distribution, very comfortable. I even manage to sleep with it. Love this. Couldn't stand the regular braces that constantly pushed on my carotid artery and fell apart after 2 weeks of wearing while asleep ( I move a lot in my sleep). Been wearing nightly for a month and this thing rocks and is super plush. Even has the built in stiff foam "pillows" to help keep your arm elevated at night. Haven't had one issue adjusting or setting it up with or without the pillows. Read more
This is a great product and is way more comfortable than the slings that go around your neck. I had this thing on and adjusted properly within 5 minutess of opening the box. If you have the intelligence of a potato you may not be able to figure out how to adjust it and use it but for most people it would not be an issue. Read more
