I wanted to upgrade from an older false burr grinder and leaking 20 year old espresso machine. These were the machines I’d settled on apart, to get them as a bundle cheaper than apart was a no brainer. So far I’m very happy. The grinder is the bigger upgrade for me. I did add on a third party bellows that attaches to the hopper. It kicks out about 0.5-1.0 grams of retained coffee. I am at about 13-16 clicks for espresso without shims. That gives me a lot of room to play if I want to go with lighter roasts than my typical medium and dark. Noise is substantially lower than my previous false burr. It’s not exactly quiet but not obnoxious. The espresso machine is great too. I am using the single wall baskets but did test the double wall with courser coffee and it’s fine too. Heat up time for everything is better than my old machine is steaming is wildly better. I’m very novice at milk drinks but this will help me grow. Shipping from Seattle was fast and packaging for the combo was excellent. Read more

Overall a good machine, and it brews delicious espresso. But it does have some quirks. You cannot go much past the halfway point on the Baratza grinder, or the grind will be too fine for the Breville and it will shoot water all over the counter top (it took some trial and error for me to get the grind right, and I almost returned the machine). The Breville is not heavy enough for you to put on or take off the portafilter with one hand; you have to brace the machine with your other hand (I have an older model that is much sturdier and was surprised by this). The instructions are complex and some features do not work (I was not able to change the length of the extraction for the double shot, and had to stick with the pre-settings). Read more

Love this espresso machine and grinder combo. They work great together. Very durable and comes with everything you need to start making espresso drinks. Comes with all the instructions for easy set up and cleaning. Was the perfect size for my espresso bar. I followed instructions for dialing in as well and Breville has videos online to help too! Using it every day with 0 issues. Would recommend. You can get cheaper bambino machine. But +100 dollars worth it for me, because I can heat up my food while the milk is getting made Read more

NEW UPDATE: I'm SO angry with this grinder. The Breville is great. The Baratza grinder? AWFUL. The grind is never consistant. You have to constantly clean it bc the grinds build up quickly. I would simply take it apart and brush the grinds out. For the first time, bc the parts were getting that oily build up, I washed it with soapy water, dried it, and put it in the sun to dry further. ALL THE METAL PARTS RUSTED!!!! Not to mention my frustration that the felt circle fell apart after a month of using it, so I had to go to the breville website and order more. So I havent been able to use my grinder for awhile now. I've put $ into the replacement parts and find RUST NOW? I basically am spending what I bought the machine for to REPLACE everything! Breville website is "sold out" of the burrs for this grinder. I WONDER WHY?? It's NOT STAINLESS STEEL. Old review: I spent days researching what the best at home espresso machine and grinder are most recommended. I originally wanted to buy a machine that was worth $3000+ but I am so glad I started with this machine, as a beginner! It makes great drinks. I'm sure down the line I will upgrade but honestly, there really isn't a need, this machine and grinder work great! It's easy to take the grinder apart and clean. There are lots of helpful youtube videos for both machines, on how to operate and clean. I do recommend buying a bottomless portafilter (this one comes with the two-spout one and I found it doesn't make as good of espresso) and a puck screen to keep your machine clean. So glad I didn't spend so much $ on something else. Read more
