I did not purchase this for a child, I purchased this for my 3 pups, I was searching for a small soft bristle toothbrush for my pups, all the ones I've purchased for dogs were too big and hard for their tiny small mouths and I'm happy with these toothbrushes, they are soft and the bristles don't make my pups gums bleed and they really clean their teeth and inside the cheek area where food settles. I like that the toothbrush is round vs the flat hard plastic on regular brushes that my pups bite down and create sharp pieces that cuts the inside of their mouth, this works great for my pups and brushing teeth is not a struggle anymore...oh and they are very durable toothbrushes, I have one who likes to chew on the bristles and none are missing. I just got these in today, and I'm so pleased with the purchase. They worked great for my two 6 pound poodles. I tested the toothbrush on myself before using on them. It is very soft and doesn't scratch the gums at all however, it does feel firm enough to be able to clean. It was just the right size for their small mouths.
