I have been buying Altra shoes now for some time because of their excellent toe box design and fit. They are excellent, but not cheap. My Altra Lone Peak 8 shoes let sharper edges of our gravel roads bleed through a bit painfully. So, I decided to branch out, look for a less expensive shoe and see what other brands were available with the same features. I was also looking for a nice, plain color that I could wear with most of my clothing – the more expensive shoes look like a comic book threw up! The Bronax shoes were well rated and met all of my criteria - I couldn’t be happier. Also, the price is excellent! They were comfortable from the start, no break-in or adapting. The sole was a bit firmer than my Altra shoes, so the gravel road was no longer painful. I was so impressed, I ordered a pair for my husband in black. He also was very happy. Read more

Was a lifelong New Balance wearer for running and hiking until recently when their wide widths kept shrinking. After returning those in 4E, Altras, and Under Armor Charged Asserts in 4E, tried these on a whim out of desperation. The rubber sole is more durable than the Altras, although they both have good widths. Kept these only and am pleased with the comfort and wide toe box. The rubber sole is starting to wear just a little bit after a few months of running 3x/week on average, but is reasonable wear for the time used and is still a good deal for the price. They provide enough support for my high arches and wide feet, although they aren’t quite as lightweight as New Balance. Overall, I am honestly surprised by the quality and am happy with them so far. I literally can’t find another brand that fits my feet for this price—or even at all, hardly. No issues with my feet after running in these for a few months. I’m a fan! Read more

These are the perfect wide toe box shoes! I’ve spent $130+ on Altras and these Bronaxs lasted longer than they did. Super comfy and fit amazingly! Also the perfect white tennis shoe! Read more

What can I say, these are the cheapest most comfortable shoe you can buy. They’re decent quality, can support my feet and they’re lightweight. It’s a win/win. Read more

These shoes look fantastic. Nice wide toe box but they’re still way too snug on the sides of my feet. I don’t know if upping a size would help but they’re definitely NOT a great fit. Read more

Honest Review: BRONAX Men’s Wide Toe Box Running Shoes – Actually Built for Real Feet I’m not easy to impress when it comes to running shoes. Years of dealing with heel and Achilles pain (thanks, plantar fasciitis and insertional Achilles tendonitis) made me picky—and desperate for something that wouldn’t just make things worse. First off: the look. Unlike most “foot-shaped” shoes, these don’t scream for attention with neon colors and wild patterns. The basic uniform blue is understated and looks right at home with jeans, joggers, or running shorts. They’re actually stylish, not just “not ugly,” which is rare for wide-fit options. Fit & Feel: Wide toe box? Yes. Actually-wide in the whole shoe? Also yes—and that’s honestly harder to find than it should be. The natural foot shape lets your toes splay naturally, adding real comfort and stability. The high 10mm heel-to-toe drop is exactly what I needed to take pressure off my Achilles. Performance: After five months and 150+ miles (admittedly, more walking than running), these shoes are still holding up. No blowouts, no flattening, and no early wear—even compared to other shoes I own at triple the price. The mesh actually breathes (no hot feet), and the foam soles are springy enough that even concrete sidewalks don’t leave my heels barking. The laces are decent quality (better than some big names), and the removable insoles make it easy to use your own orthotics—a must for anyone dealing with chronic foot pain. The “But…” My only gripe is the subtle upward rise at the toe, which gives the shoe a gentle rocking motion when you run. Some people might love that, but for my particular foot issue, it takes some getting used to. Not a dealbreaker—just worth noting if you have a similar Achilles problem. Sizing: True to size. If you’re on the fence, order your regular size and you’ll be good. Bottom line: Don’t waste your money chasing big brand hype if you need real comfort, support, and width. BRONAX delivers the goods for a lot less. I’ll buy another pair when these finally wear out (which, at this rate, could be a while). Lighter than they look, tough as they need to be. Recommendation: Great for anyone who wants true width, classic looks, and proven comfort—whether you’re pounding the pavement or just racking up steps at work. Read more
