The last time I bought dress shoes was about 15 years ago, so I figured I was due for a new pair. I don't put a lot of stress on them so they tend to last a long long time. I typically prefer leather uppers but this method of construction intrigued me - essentially a slip-on sock with laces for show, and no tongue. When I first opened the shoe box there was a very sharp rubber/plastic smell, but it dissipated within minutes. These shoes are so obviously synthetic, but they actually look pretty good. I'm trying to get used to the white sole look... I wore them for several hours to see how they would feel. Arch support is minimal but adequate for me; my size is 10.5W but this size 11 pair fit well enough. The transparent plastic sole bottom is a curious choice of material. It's soft and somewhat elastic, not particularly grippy, but I notice it has a tendency to slowly slip or creep on hard tile surfaces. It was not unusually slippery on slick wet floors (like our painted wood porch in the rain). I think this pair is a decent value for the money, I am not looking for super high quality footwear at this price point, and anything that gives me a few to several months wear would be more than adequate. These shoes seem like they will last a while. They were suitably comfortable even after wearing for five hours. Not displeased. Read more

I love how these shoes look, but the narrow toe box and inconsistent non-slip soles aren't for everyone. The shoes are true to size, I normally wear a 9.5, and a 9.5 fits me about as I expect. It's normal for shoes of this type to have narrow toe boxes because designers think that any guy wearing casual dress shoes must have tiny toes, and these are no exception. I don't have wide feet but the toe box is still cramped for me, although after extended wear they stretched a bit and became more comfortable. I would have hoped for a better fit out of the box, but it wasn't as bad as some others I've tried. There's no real arch support that I can feel, so keep that in mind if it's a concern. The soles do have some OK grip, although straight out of the box they were VERY slick. A freshly-mopped floor was very slippery. However, after wearing them around for a few days, the soles got much better. Keep that in mind as well. Overall, for casual shoes to wear around during the day, they're pretty good if you keep their issues in mind, especially the narrow toe box. I find them somewhat more comfortable than others I've tried at this price point, and would consider them a good value for the cost if you're looking for a stylish but low-cost casual shoe. I have several other Bruno Marc shoes so was excited to try these out. Unfortunately they aren't as comfortable as my other Bruno Marc shoes (which are my daily wear shoes). The shoe is much stiffer and has a narrow toe box which I found to be uncomfortable after an hour or so of wearing. I do have a wide foot, so these may fit someone with narrow feet better. They'll be fine for a dinner or show, but I personally wouldn't want to be walking very far in these. Durability and quality on my other Bruno Marcs has been good, and would expect similar performance from these shoes as well. Overall decent value for the money, but would avoid if you have wider feet or prefer a wider toe box. Read more

When I ordered these, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I normally wear name brand shoes like Cole Haan or Johnson and Murphy. Their dress shoes are very nice looking. The photos of these look nice, but you never know what you’re going to get. When I took them out of the box I noticed they didn’t look as nice as my other name brand shoes. They seem to have a rubbery or plasticy (yes I know it’s not a word) look to them. But that’s if you hold them in your hand and look closely. When they’re on your feet, you don’t notice that so much. But let me say this: I brought them with me on the road as I traveled to teach a training class. I wore them all day three days straight. They were much more comfortable than I would have expected. The size seems true to fit. Most of my dress shoes are either 12 or 13. These are 12 and they fit fine. considering they are about 1/3 the price of my name brand shoes, they look fine, and they’re comfortable, they strike me as good value for money. Read more

The size is accurate, but my husband said the soles felt very thin. He did decide to hold onto them for business casual events, but felt they would be painful to try to wear all day. They do look nice on him. So I would say wearability is mid, but style is nice. They do seem stylistically versatile because they could go casual or business casual, could even wear them with a suit in a less formal setting. I think they would look too much like sneakers if you tried to go formal with them. Last time we picked up Bruno Marc for our son to wear to a wedding, it was much nicer, but these aren't the worst quality. If you can pick them up on sale it would be better, but full price I can't really say it's a good value for your money. Read more

Handsome dressy casual shoe. These Bruno Marc oxfords are true to size and stylish. Good for a value price point. I can walk, sit and stand for hours and still feel very comfortable. I am not sold on the soft padded collar around the ankle, I found these harder to slip on and spend more time wrestling my foot into the opening, especially with socks. I really like the look of these oxfords, they dress nicely with jeans or business casual. The white soles make them more relaxed and informal looking. However, the waxed laces dress them up a bit. Durability is a big question mark; time will tell if the man-made material will hold up at the bend of the toes or start to break and split. Read more
