Didn’t realize how handy these would be! I’ve never thought to make my own buckle straps but am so glad I got this kit. My first project was to make custom sized straps to secure life vests to the side of my boat. I was able to size and create 2 straps in about 3 minutes (in the fading light of day, no less!!). The buckles are a high quality plastic that looks to be very durable. The nylon webbing of the straps is equally strong…and I loved that when I cut it, it didn’t fray AT ALL!! I will definitely be hitting he ends with a lighter or heat knife to melt and seal the ends at some point but I honestly don’t have to do it immediately. I am now searching for more things that need straps!! So worth the money for solid quality and ease of use! Read more

These buckles and straps were a delight to use for my son’s predator armor. It came with a helpful diagram on the direction the strap and buckle should go together. The buckles snapped and unsnapped easily with the loss of flesh or bruises. I had plenty of buckles left for future projects. It came with plenty of nylon too. Read more

I picked up this adorable red panda backpack from Serka Zong Bazaar (that's the shop by Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom) during our Walt Disney World trip (Sept. 18–23), hoping it would be a perfect memento for my spouse, who loves unique Disney-themed items. At $30, it felt like a great deal — but I was disappointed to find the straps only extended to about 22 inches, much shorter than the typical 36-inch range we’re used to with Loungefly backpacks. That made it too small for me or my spouse to wear comfortably. Not wanting to give up on such a sweet gift, I got creative. I ordered these strap extenders from Amazon and used my Singer Pixie Plus sewing machine (normally reserved for hemming clothes) to modify the straps. With a little patience and stitching, I was able to extend the fit and make it wearable — and now it’s a functional, heartfelt keepsake that my spouse absolutely loves. If you’re handy with a sewing machine or willing to do a little DIY, these straps are a great find. Just be aware of the strap length before you begin. Read more

I used this to replace the straps of a backpack (one of those picnic basket kind) and it was surprisingly easier than expected and the quality of the straps was really nice. I've been using the bag frequently as a diaper bag and appreciate how soft feeling the straps are and how sturdy they seem. I still have plenty left over for any other repairs I might need to do for other bags. Also, because they are so smooth, they adjust easily, so that may impact your decision on sewing the end folded or leaving it flat with a heat melted edge. Read more
Really good parts. I modified a camera bag straps to fit my purposes by replacing a waist belt with a cross over shoulder strap, and it works perfectly. If you don't mind fixing things yourself, I think this kit is great. Read more
