I started using Bullfrog years ago. I like the quick drying formula that doesn't leave a white coating that takes 20 min to absorb. I was really disappointed a year ago when I couldn't get it (unless I wanted to spend $50-$100 a bottle on ebay). I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up again. I've read some reviews about the new formula smelling bad or the "new" alcohol base. It's been alcohol based since I've been using it and it smells the same to me. I have been using Bullfrog's SPF 50 gel formula for over 20 years. I have never had a sunburn when wearing it. I love the product: it's an alcohol based get so you will smell the alcohol when you apply it but it evaporates within a minute or less. It protects you whether you are dry or wet (swimming/sweat) and I have rarely re-applied it even when I spend 3-4 hours in the sun golfing. As some reviewers have said, it does leave a white, waxy coating that has to be washed off (I only have seen it on my lower legs though). But, hey, it's hearty stuff....it stays on when many other sunscreens don't. The reason for only 4 stars is their new bottle. I purchased three bottles about 4-5 months ago and every one had the same issue - the gel leaks out from around the entire cap instead of just coming out the hole in the cap (like it used to). Seems like a design or manufacturing issue but who knows. My work around is to unscrew the cap and just pour some on and spread it where it's needed. I haven't found anything that works this well so I'll put up with the cap issue until they fix it. (just hope someone from the company reads these) Read more
