But he loves it. It fits just right and it is the right width and thickness. It is great looking and will work with dress or casual pants. The quality is fantastic. There's subtle variation and depth to the brown leather finish that doesn't show in the pictures online. The stitching is even and the roller buckle is very well-made. The 1 1/4 width makes this a perfect belt for chinos, but it's a little casual for a suit. The leather is thick and breaking in nicely so far...this is not the usual Chinese-made disposable belt. The quality of this belt compares favorably with much more expensive belts I've bought from high-end leather goods companies without the "name brand tax". I couldn't be happier with Bullhide! So these are expensive for a reason. They are very thick. No soft pleather, flimsy, chain store, belt here. I will admit they seemed a bit too solid at first, but I have learned to appreciate the sturdiness and manufacturing quality. I use them for my office wear, but they would look good and perform well in more agricultural settings, or with a holster. Made in the USA. I have a 1.5” and 1.25” one.
