One of the pictures says there’s a whistle, but mine didn’t come with one. There’s a metal ring that you could clip a whistle to, though. The pockets on the sides are best for slim water bottles. The straps adjust down to fit the smallest three-year-olds. It should work for my daughter at preschool this fall :) Read more

This is a well constructed backpack. The material is strong enough to withstand daily use to daycare. It holds all he needs for a day trip, overnight trip, or daycare. I love the zipper pull groove that is just right for small fingers to grip. The colors aren't fading (even after multiple washings). It is a very nice option for the price. My grandson loves it!! I was a little worried about the size because I wanted to make sure my daughter’s school work would fit into the backpack. It would be better if it was maybe an inch or two taller, but that’s me being picky. It’s soooo stinkin cute and my 5 year old adores it. More than I thought she would. She is pretty tall for her age and looks more like a 6 year old than 5. It’s comfortable and has just enough space for school for the younger kiddos. This toddler backpack looks and feels high quality. It is small enough for my 3yo to put on herself, and the chest clip keeps it on while she sashays to-and-from the car on school days. The main pocket is big enough to hold her lunch bag, hoodie, and her folder (with the corners bent). I wish the main pocket was a bit taller so that her folder would fit without bending the corners down. The larger front pocket can hold a spare change of 4T clothes (folded neatly). The small front pocket could hold more, but I just keep a comb in it. The side pockets are big enough to hold her 10oz take-n-toss straw cups, but larger bottles may not fit since the bottom of the pockets doesn't really expand to the same diameter as the elastic top of each side pocket. This backpack works for us, though as I said we have to cram the folder in. My daughter also loves to blow the safety whistle on the chest clip. With all her school stuff in it, she happily wears the backpack without complaints. Read more
