Lid breaks. SCAM. (They refunded me)
Lid falls in. A top review details this with a photo. So disappointing, I’ve only used it three or four times. Edit: they were kind enough to refund in full. Read more

COMPANY REPLACED MY DEFECTIVE COFFEE MAKER. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. AFTER TRYING THE NEW COFFEE MAKER A FEW TIMES, I STILL HAVE MY DOUBTS, WHILE THE COFFEE MAKER IS GOOD THE PLASTIC COVER/LID ON TOP STILL FLIMSY, IT ACTS LIKES IT WANTS TO FALL OFF. W/OUT THIS COVER THE COFFEE MAKER IS USELESS, I HOPE IT DOES NOT FALLS OFF. I HAVE TO BE OBJECTIVE ON MY REVIEW. SO FAR SO GOOD, WILL UPDATE IF NEED BE. Well, here is an update. after maybe what a little over a month of receiving the replacement coffee maker, I'm having the same issue as with the previous one, the transparent lid on to top is falling off, there must be a design flaw, it is a shame because it is a nice coffee maker but without this lid you can't make coffee. so, I'm revieing my overall rating to 1 star and i do not recommend this coffee maker. company has a good customer service but a bad product. This note is for the company. I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER REPLACEMENT. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Was looking for a waste-free option for great tasting espresso! Back to the basics, stovetop moka pot works great. This economic unit makes smooth, low-acidic coffee; better than the pod options that I've been using. We have an Aeropress at work that I tried a few times; that makes smooth coffee too, but it takes a lot of energy to press the water thru the filter. This unit works great and results are hot steamy espresso! I have a milk frother/heater that warms the milk with perfect texture and results are a $6-8 coffee drink at home! I've tried with 8 oz. of water with full coffee filter to partial 4 oz to 6 oz and scaled back coffee grounds, all with great results. Glad to have this size with the option to scale down as needed. The clear (plastic) window is helpful to view the brew status. Good results using medium heat electric coil stove-top burner, which takes about 8 minutes to complete; the attached video was initial brew, which took longer at lower heat, but still good results with medium heat at faster pace (now can complete brew in abiut 6 minutes). Both cold and hot water give similar tasty results. Monitor the entire process, let all the gurgling finish before removing from the heat for best results (don't boil the reservoir totally dry so it won't discolor the unit). After at least 10 brews there is slight discoloring occurring inside the base water reservoir but no rusting occurring; the outside of entire unit still has glossy finish. The top carafe is holding up well with the glossy finish inside. For best results, hand rinse with just water rather than use soap or dishwasher for best results, or it can damage the finish. Be sure to pull the gasket and filter from bottom of top carafe to rinse completely. Also, rinse the mid-section coffee filter thoroughly through bottom tube and the top basket to remove fine grounds. Let all parts completely airdry prior to storing to avoid mildew or bacteria growth. Enjoy the results of great, consistent coffee without the need to maintain a machine or deal with environmentally wasteful pods. A little patience goes a long way! Cheers! Read more

This Espresso Pot is beautiful. Just made my first cup. The spoon is an extra benefit, which is different. I like the weight of the pot, and as a new pot is shiny and bright. The open window top is great, I can see the coffee perking without lifting top. The size is just what I need, I can make a small cup or a mug size cup of coffee. I think my old espresso pot has had its day because coffee tastes better now. The price is very good, I have bought a number of pots and this is the nicest one I've gotten am replacing an old one. Works as it should for making espresso. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has this complaint though. The plastic lid on top ends up falling through. You can look at how it is designed and see how this is a flaw. Customer service is good, and they will send you another pot. The problem is not resolved though. It's just a matter of time before it falls through again Read more
I love espresso makers and this one is great, it makes delicious coffee, easy to use, even come with directions on how to use it. What I really don't like is that the top plastic piece that you can "look through" is so unnecessary and it is always falling out. I am worried that the more I put it in, the more that it will wear down and it won't fit anymore. The concept of being able to see the coffee was a good idea but the execution is a huge no. You can't even see the coffee come out because it gets foggy. Read more
Right out of the box, the Café Du Chateau Espresso Maker looked solid. For something that costs $20, it’s elegantly designed, the quality is excellent, and the build is impressive. But here’s where things start to go wrong: the coffee grounds keep floating up, and the filter just isn’t doing its job. Honestly, this should be an easy fix from an engineering perspective. I found some peanut-sized grinds in my cup, so I recommend using an extra filter, or let the grounds settle, pour out 2/3 of the coffee, and toss the rest. If you’re after a caffeine kick, you’ll probably still want this. I suggest getting an espresso press to compact the grounds—it’ll help. But be careful when handling the maker; it gets hot quick. My tip? Rinse it with water to cool the metal down before touching it. Another heads up: clean the tubing regularly. It’s easy for it to get dirty over time, and trust me, you don’t want to be drinking that. I found it a bit difficult to clean, a massive turn-off if that’s important to you. Overall, this is a cheap way to get something espresso-like. If regular drip coffee just doesn’t hit hard enough, I understand why you’d go for this. Read more
